neutryno Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 oh great!,.. it's just that i thought it will sound like an F not a MiG :)
Renato71 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 AMA-ZZZZING-G-G-G !!! I'm going to pop a bear to celebrate those videos! One thing to ask - will you be able to fix that "must have 2-engines" code? I'm sure it must be a significant problem, cos all FC/DCS flyables are 2-engined. I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.
59th Ducky Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 F-16A slot use Su-27 cockpit /w HumanCockpit=True script ? 1
59th_Stholo Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 In FC 2 you can set which cockpit do you want to have.
combatace Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Sorry it's not possible... Right. I tried it but was never successful. I never got the radar working on it. But its the closet one that can have Mig-21's flight characteristics. Boberro Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 But its the closet one that can have Mig-21's flight characteristics. Doesn't matter because flying non-default plane causes using default flight model. I have various planes on my server, Su-17M4 included. Default FM is rather crappy, weird flying, X axis is very very sensitive, plane doesn't have AoA limit it seems too. Human controlled aircraft has just not as same FM as AI gets using same plane. Whatever aircraft you replace you have to write new FM or modify current one. I tested and edited Su-27 FM in lua files and assigned it to Su-17. Now it flies much better, not like totally arcade. Of course it is still fiction, but feelings of flights are better in responses, you feel weight of plane. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
neutryno Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 @beczl is it possible if somehow you could borrow some textures from the cockpit of Su-25? which looks pretty close to Mig-21 :)

Hi, The plane will be one engine managed through .lua F-16A slot use Su-27 cockpit /w HumanCockpit=True script ? Hi! Which cockpit do you replace? The plane will be replace the F-16A slot with Su-27 cockpit as well. Right. I tried it but was never successful. I never got the radar working on it. But its the closet one that can have Mig-21's flight characteristics. It doesn't metter due the Mig-21 characteristics will be manage through lua. The plane has almost all FM as the real Mig-21. :-) All engine management, aeordinamical variables, weapon handling etc.. work like the real Mig-21. @beczl is it possible if somehow you could borrow some textures from the cockpit of Su-25? which looks pretty close to Mig-21 Not necessary. The plane has a brand new textures. A forum member already working on the instruments texturing.
neutryno Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) @ beczl after u finish the cockpit and the full extend mod of your Mig-21, i guess i will try modeling a Mig-21 Lancer cockpit. So.. did you individually design every component and integrate it? or u have a blueprint or soemting similar? Edited June 5, 2011 by neutryno
beczl Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 The cockpit modeling is at least twicer diffultier than the normal plane 3D modeling. Sometimes the elements are flickering and misaligned due the view settings are in 3DS MAX and FC2 is different. I have many tips for you if you need. I have some blueprints, but the bis has a four subvariant and eight cockpit variant, so at least 32 different cockpit variant exist. The ethod was the following in my case.: - Collect blueprints, and available photos on the internet. - Take photos from the real Mig cockpit (I went to several museum) - Talk with active or retired pilot's to clarify which instruments and switches layout etc... After I create the main panel elements, side panels and instruments I created some standard switches, knobs, lamps reference objects etc.. because fortunately the russian plane suse a lot of similar things. Than I positioned, cloned and assigned it to the main panels as well.
