Some of the reviews commented about it, and it seems that you can use it as zoom, and there is a button on the underside that's not on the real thing too.

Cheers!

I'm not sure if the button isn't intended as HOB (Hands-on Blackout) switch that's probably not in our Viper, but some blocks do have it. It configures the cockpit for NVG use, and it's located somewhere on the bottom of the throttle.

Ah, I see. Didn't know that.
Thanks!

I found a picture, and from the looks of it, it's more or less where the HOBO switch would be on the real thing:

Now, I never actually saw a real Viper throttle with that switch, nor any sim that would bother modeling it, but it's there for if we ever get a variant that has it. If nothing else, I guess you can use it to toggle NODs.

on my first flight after config of the new throttle, i did not have wheel set right. the default mapping is main power on and off. lol. betty was not happy. but it does work great to zoom in slow, zoom out slow, and press to center.

otherwise i am pleased with it. the afterburner detent is perfect. i did not have to do anything like i did with the warthog.

You have a similar button on the TM F-18 flightstick. It's a nice addition in my opinion.

@silverdevil

I think the whole idea behind that switch is to act as the radar elevation controller for the F/A-18 since the functionality is modelled differently on the F-16 vs F/A-18. As someone already stated, TM had also implemented such a switch on the F/A-18 grip artificially.
Remember, that the Warthog throttle does not provide such a switch….
