Isn’t there a setting to dim the HUD when using the NVGs?

You can either flip the switch to set the HUD into night mode (by the avionic switches like TGP, Laser etc) or you can use the buttons on the UFCP to dimm the HUD.

The HUD is already in night mode. Where on the UFCP is that? I don’t see anything there.

Yup, brightness is controlled by the INTEN rocker on the UFC.

IIRC, the amber NIGHT HUD setting is actually not NVG compatible, but the green DAY setting is 🤷‍♂️  In DCS, though, it doesn't seem to matter either way so you can take your pick, as long as you adjust the brightness
