Maybe you use DCS stable? The 2.9 update is for openbeta

We do not have a date yet, it will depend on testing 2.9 in public and any fixes we make.

Is there an easy way to transfer to the open beta or does it require a fresh install.

I tried right clicking the bin folder, opening powershell and typing in .\DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta but that didnt work as described in an official FAQ post.

Stable gets updated every 5-6 months (as seen on the changelog dates:
