Snacko Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I'm pretty sure I used to be able to set the Effects/Smoke 'Density' from 0 to 1. (ie. 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) But now it's not possible. If I am incorrect, please tell me how to use it. 0 and 1 both only seem to show black dense smoke. Snacko Posted October 21, 2023 Author Posted October 21, 2023 (edited) I posted about this almost a year ago. After adding a Static object of type Effects/Big Smoke. You cannot adjust the Density between 0 and 1. You used to be able to set the value to 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, .... etc.. It appears in the Static Effect object that the textbox only allows 2 characters. And does not allow '.' decimal points.. But you CAN set this if you make it a Trigger event. The textbox in the Trigger event allows decimal points and 3 characters. Snacko Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 Can you explain what that means? And how long has this been on their list? Solution Flappie Posted October 22, 2023 Solution Posted October 22, 2023 It means devs are already aware for Grimes created an internal report for them to see. I'll bump the report. ---
Snacko Posted June 12, 2024 Author Posted June 12, 2024 This Bug still persists, and is very annoying.. In the Triggers you can set the smoke density from 0 to 1. (ie. 0.1, 0.2, 0.3). But you Still cannot set the Smoke Density like this in the Mission Editor Static Effect properties panel. I wish ED would spend a little time fixing this kind of 'low hanging fruit'. You know it will be very easy to fix. It's just changing it from an Integer to a floating point number. Heck, it's probably just a setting some control's property.. And while you are at it, please add a Z axis to the Effects, so we can change their height. Just want to add smoke to some factories & Oil Platforms and processing.. As it is, it just looks like they are on fire.. Snacko Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Ok, just a regular 6 month follow-up on the status of this minor bug. How many years will it take to fix the simple things?? 1 Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download
