Can't launch DCS today

So tried to launch the game today, completely vanilla, can't launch st or mt. Shows small splash screen then loads to all black screen and stays there until killed with task manager. Nothing has changed since last launch which was yesterday 10/22/23, even though graphics are jacked up since 2.9 release, it launched just fine.

Your log shows the symptom of a broken options.lua:

2023-10-22 04:24:36.282 ERROR   Lua::Config (Main): load error Config/main.cfg:[string "Config/terrain.lua"]:2: attempt to concatenate local 'visibRange' (a nil value).

Like I said in the other thread, you need to rename your "Saved Games/DCS.../Config/options.lua" file. DCS will create a brand new one.

I thought so, but the latest update yesterday won't start in vr. Will run no worries flat screen. I rename the options.lua file so it rewrites a new one and it will run in flat screen, but as soon as checkbox enable vr it won't even start.

I upgraded my power supply for the 16 pin 40 series card and ever since 2.9 it has been very unstable, last few updates pc turns off like I unplugged the power supply. Help flappie!

please attach the whole dcs.log it will give a bigger picture. 

if you have any unofficial mods remove them and do a repair also

I tried removing mods it didn't work. I did full uninstall reinstall including saved games folder (160gb) and now it works, thanks to all who helped

Please say and I'll start a new thread. DCS is so good I will continue to persist but it's getting on my nerves.

Single core seems ok. I think it is definitely multi core issue.

Please update to the latest DCS and retry

The crash occurred inside enlight.dll.
Try a slow repair of DCS.
Remove your custom mods if any.

Delete Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo and metashaders2 and try again.
Next, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS.openbeta and try again.
Next, try renaming Saved Games\DCS.openbeta to DCS.old and try again.

I would start looking at your drive.  That sounds like things are getting randomly corrupted and that could be a drive starting to fail.

we need to see the DCS log for clues. 

but remove all unofficial mods if any and run a repair of DCS or verify if steam
