Lekaa Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Hello, Before i say it's a bug, I need to ask first if it's intended to be this way or not. In the AZ/EL page, while having the flir and using the flir button as the pictures shows. Is it the case that the TGP will look at where you depress? Because at the moment, when choosing the Flir and then useTDC depress on the TGT in the AZ/EL page, the radar will lock that target instead of just slaving of the POD. The pod will only look when you depress on an empty space in the AZ/EL page and not when you depress on a Datalink contact, the pod till slave though if you have lock the target. Is it a bug or not a bug? AZEL.trk Edited October 26, 2023 by Lekaa
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 26, 2023 ED Team Posted October 26, 2023 Hi, from our manual which can be found in DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc folder, but I will check. Thanks Quote FLIR Sensor Mode When the FLIR is selected as the active sensor, the AZ/EL format changes slightly, and some pushbuttons have different functions. Centerpoint elevation Centerpoint azimuth Display FLIR format FLIR FOV cycle FLIR LOS Slave FLIR to L&S Boresight FLIR EAGLE DYNAMICS Page 189 Figure 94. AZ/EL Format with FLIR FLIR FOV cycle: Cycles between available FLIR fields of view: WFOV (wide), MED (medium), and NFOV (narrow). FLIR LOS: Indicates the FLIR line-of-sight. Note that the circle does not display the FOV area, as this would be excessively small. The circle will enclose a HAFU symbol when the FLIR is slaved to a trackfile. This circle is dimmed when RDR is the selected sensor. Display FLIR format: Pressing this pushbutton displays the FLIR format. Slave FLIR to L&S: Boxing this option will keep the FLIR LOS slaved to the current L&S. Boresight FLIR: Pressing this button drives the FLIR LOS to boresight. Because the AZ/EL view is horizon stabilized, but the boresight LOS is not, changes in aircraft pitch will cause the LOS circle to drift up and down. HOTAS Controls The AZ/EL page can be quickly brought up using the HOTAS when it is not already displayed. When in A/A master mode, bumping the Sensor Control Switch left will put the AZ/EL page on the left DDI, if the left DDI cannot take TDC priority (e.g., the Stores format). Pressing the TDC designate when the cursor is over an MSI trackfile designates that target as the current L&S. If an L&S is already designated, the trackfile under the cursor is designated the DT2. If the target under the cursor is the DT2, pressing TDC designate will make it the L&S, and the previous L&S will be erased. (It will not be downgraded to DT2.) When the sensor mode is set to FLIR, releasing TDC designate when the cursors are over a trackfile commands the FLIR LOS to that trackfile. The FLIR will continuously track that target, even when the L&S changes. Boxing the L+S pushbutton (see FLIR Sensor Mode, above) will return FLIR LOS to the L&S. Pressing and holding TDC designate when the cursor is not over an MSI trackfile, but in the display area, changes the cursor to a pointing cross. See Changing Radar Scan Centerpoint, below. Bumping the Sensor Control Switch in the direction of the DDI showing the AZ/EL format commands the radar to attempt single-target track (STT) on the MSI trackfile under the cursor. If the radar is already in STT mode, bumping the Sensor Control Switch in this manner commands a break-lock. 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Hulkbust44 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Yes, TDC depress will designate any MSI trackfile. To slave the FLIR you should TDC depress over a blank space, slew over the track, then release. Sent from my moto g stylus 5G (2022) using Tapatalk 1

I need to depress on empty space then slew it to him. Edited October 26, 2023 by Lekaa
Hulkbust44 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 so if you only have Datalink contact, you can't slave your pod to him since nothing happens when you tdc depress on him regarding the pod, right? No, you hold TDC depress, slew over the track, then release. Slave on the right should be boxed. The FLIR hexagon is bugged and will not follow a track without radar contribution...
