Does DCS model pitot freezing? Airspeed drops to zero after flying through cloud layer.

I'm on mission 4 of TEW 3.0 at the part where we are attacking the first group of enemies that are in a mountain pass.  Whenever I start down from 15k and pass through the cloud layer at 7000 ft MSL, the airspeed dial and HUD tape fall to zero, even the stall horn activates.  No warning lights.  But I still have the airspeed and I can maneuver and everything like normal.  When I climb out and get back above the cloud layer, the airspeed gauges come back.  What is up with that?

Multi-threaded exe running in VR. Steam.  Verified the installed files using the Steam utility.

If so, it's new.  Before, the pitot would ice up after 40 minutes of flight with the pitot heat off, regardless of what weather you were in.  Obviously, not the sort of thing I'm interested in testing out, but if icing happens in some clouds, that would be an interesting change.

That would be really cool indeed! If that also means that pitot-icing no longer happens outside of clouds, that would be even cooler! 😄
