Thank you for taking the time to check this. I really appreciate the time you spent making these excellent training missions and am looking forward perhaps on some missions illustrating the other weapons ( rb15,etc)

Nevada has no sea, so for the cruise missiles I have turned to the Kola map, but so far I've only done one on the Rb04e:

I intend to do one on the Rb15, but the Phantom release threw me out of focus a bit, and I have yet to return back to the Viggen 🙂 ... hopefully soon ...

Cheers,

Just downloaded your Viggen training missions (Nevada & Kola).  I put the miz files in my Missions folder.  I assume I also should put the "lessons.lua" files in the same folder?  I cannot put both in there with the same name, so what do I do with that?  Thanks in advance and sorry for the newbie question.

Hello,

Actually, it isn't a newbie question 🙂 ... the problem of where missions are stored is not well explained on the DCS manual and as a result not many users understand where to place new missions that they edit themselves or download from the Web.

Let me attempt to clarify this subject a bit, but let's see a normal Mission first, as they are simpler than Training ones. The Viggen Module includes a few full Missions, they look like this on DCS:

VbG457v.jpg

On the disk they are stored within the DCS main folder, like this:

ZZB5AP5.jpg

As the DCS main folder is meant only for official content, your custom missions should be placed on this other folder path: /Saved Games/DCS/Missions/   ... within DCS you find them on the "My Missions" section and look like this:

uOGlZyK.jpg

On the disk, the corresponding folder would be:

LgpztjK.jpg

Note that I have created some sub-folders within "Missions", as over time I have collected literally hundreds of missions, so you do need to order them just like you do with any other document of your PC, so my Viggen missions are at /Missions/5 Cold War/AJS-37/

OK, now you see that you could store my training missions within this folder and fly them just like any standard full mission, however I provided this lua file just in case you would prefer to have these missions appear within the TRAINING menu of DCS. The Training missions do not have a "My Mission" section, they look like this:

Fwohj6u.jpg

On the disk they are within the DCS program:

X4KVu5x.jpg

The lessons.lua file provides the mission description and the order of the listing.

If you use my lessons.lua file and store the missions on that same folder, they will "merge" with the stock training, and look like this:

i3WvOA0.jpg

If you have both the Nevada Map and the Kola Map, be sure to copy first the Nevada files and afterwards the Kola ones. During the copy Windows will ask permission to replace the lessons.lua file, let it do the replacement.

If you ever need to uninstall my training missions, you can simply run a DCS repair process, and let it look for "extra files", that will delete any non official files from the DCS program folder.

Best regards,

Hello,

I have some issues with missions M06 (Pre-planned Navigation) and M07 (Visual Landing and Aircraft Shutdown). Generally, after ATC radio contact, I receive radio clearance from tower (M06- taxi to runway; M07 – inbound) but after that nobody tell me what to do. This is completely different situation than on Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V58YPQMjM6M&t=859s&ab_channel=rudelchw and M07 video) where the dialogs are going on further. I removed the training mission files many times and copy them again, but all the time with the same results. I repaired DCS as well.

Could you help me to find the solution of this problem?

Hi, thanks for the bug report, I will check if a recent Viggen or DCS  update has bugged the mission. I will check it  tonight and then I will get back to you.

Regards,

Eduardo

Hi,

The problem is solved. Something has changed my VoiceAttack settings and bindings keys in the DCS game. All the time, when I used PTT FR22, an intercom was working instead of the radio. I did not notice that before.
