Now, before anyone starts getting up in arms, I am not asking for a "realistic port" of the CFA-44, X-02, ADF-01, or any of the other super-planes. And I'm not asking for any of the Super Weapons either. What I am asking for, is for ED to maybe reach out, and see if it's possible to have a major dev help out with some of our background units.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, many of the AI models right now are... well... they aren't up to the standard of any of the player modules. And I think this is an area where PA could seriously help out. Replacing many of the older models with ones from within the last AC titles wouldn't be a bad way to go.

Another possibility would be that maybe PA could add a map, maybe even a paid one. Granted, the maps in the AC titles aren't very big compared to a DCS map, but they are very well polished, and if they could put that effort into a DCS map, who knows what we could get. Heck, we know they're capable of modeling our world (Assault Horizon and Infinity are set our world after all). Maybe they could do two versions of one map... one that's fairly normal, and one that's post-planet-fall. Who knows.

But at the bare minimum... I'd like to see if their guys could make some missions, and of course, some liveries for the planes we have in game... who knows, being a Japanese based company, they may even be able to get something like the F-2 or F-1 into DCS, as well as some modern Japanese Warships and ground assets...

But hey, I can dream, can't I? And what's the worst that can be said by either party?

Hi,

this is not something we would consider, project aces is very different from DCS and we have our own teams working on content.

We are happy to work with third partys on new content, so if any potential third party out there wants to work with us reach out to me or Nineline and we can put them in touch with the right people for discussion and evaluations of projects.

Thank you.

Note: please remember our 1.15 rule if discussing.

Oh yeah, this is not meant to compare and contrast. I'm very well aware of what the AC Franchise is, and I know many here are probably sharping the pitchforks for merely suggesting what I did... that said... I'm actually looking at it from a purely business standpoint. AC7 just crossed 5mil units sold (for any game, that's a huge milestone), and if even half of those people (assuming none of them have heard of, let alone played DCS) gave DCS a shot, I'd estimate anywhere from 20-40% picking up a module.

But, that's one possible avenue.

One other possibility is the amount of work that could be saved with such a partnership. But... that's my thinking. Who knows what others may say. Hopefully, the conversation stays civil

I'm certainly in agreeance with you. Ace Combat is a big part of why I got into aviation (along with Top Gun and a few others). Rising Squall was pretty fun and I know it's not realistic but I like to think there is some happy medium here.

Exactly. Just imagine what that team could bring to the table in the form of DCS Modules. We could easily get some very detailed maps, some unique modules, AI assets, and so much more. And they certainly have the people to make it happen. And given that they already have agreements with the major manufacturers, they could certainly get us some toys that people have been begging for. But hey, the worst they could say is "No" right?

For the record, they don't really have the same level of Manufacturer's Licenses/permissions as ED/DCS 3RD Party's. *If they have any at all, as all they are using is the visual representation, which IIRC does not require a license. But that series of titles, NONE of the systems are modeled, they have a generic underlying system that is adjusted per aircraft the user is flying, some displays look visually correct but they are simply basic representations of the data the underlying generic engine is providing.

Their Content is meant right where it is, in a visually over saturated,  cinematic style camera, heavily filtered, arcade game.
Remove those filters, and the content would not look the same (I've seen many of the models RAW, w/o the graphics engine filters, they are nothing close to anything ED or 3rd Parties have put out in the last 10 years.).

As for Story / Campaigns, again, not the DCS Path, they are fictional out of the ballpark cinematic scenarios...

I think the point might've been missed here. I'm aware that the licenses they have are likely limited, however, this shouldn't preclude them from being able to negotiate for more. Also, many of the aircraft that they have, even if they can't be made into flyable assets for DCS, could still look decent as AI-controlled assets.

This shouldn't necessarily stop them from developing a campaign in DCS. If I remember correctly one of the available Hornet campaigns is supposedly a blend between AC and DCS as it is (wild scenarios, cinematic action, but realistically simulated). Also, developing a map with the tools and resources they have wouldn't be a bad thing either. They have experience modeling real-world locations after all, not just Strangereal. Personally, I wouldn't have an issue with them doing Strangereal, for those that love both franchises, I imagine such a map would sell like hotcakes.

You got it and the Campaign is Rising Squall.
