Revovilo Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Ive played DCS for a while and ive recently begun playing VR, it works fine at first but after around 10-15 minutes it maxes out my RAM and stutters horribly to the point of it being unplayable, i dont know whats causing it, if its that i need more RAM or something with my VR headset I use a oculus quest 2, Core i5 13600k, an RTX 3070, and 24 GB of ddr4 2300 MHZ of RAM

May I ask the exact configuration? "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted November 23, 2023 ED Team Posted November 23, 2023 It maybe worth increasing your pagefile also can I check, you have SSD's for DCS and your OS correct? disable hotplug in dcs controls also this helps some people. But patchwork ram like this may cause instabilities at the extremes. I find it hard to say if a „handicapped“ 24 GB are superior to an xmp‘d 16 GB. Just a random thought though. Don’t mind me! Hope you get your issue sorted out! "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
KoN Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Running out of vram . The 3070 is a good card but only 8GB of vram . 2.9 has memory issues. I have 32GB of ram and 16GB of vram all maxed out on multiplayer Syria map . Nuts . So don't get too worried it's beta and 2.9 is new I'm sure ED will fix . Gigabyte - X570UD ~ Ryzen - 5600X @ 4.7 - RTX-4070 SUPER - XPG 32:GB @ 3200 - VKB - Gunfighter 4 - STECs - Throttle - Crosswinds Rudders - Trackir 5 . I'm a dot . Pico Nero 3 link VR . @ 4k Win 11 Pro 64Bit . No longer Supporting DCS .

(Excluding Multiplayer) Iam talking about single player gaming. Because iam not sure what to set with 32gb of ram. Also not sure where to set. Drive where W10 is installed - or the drive where dcs is installed. Because i tested both and never felt that it makes a difference. For 32GB RAM or less you should set a pagefile of at least 32GB. If you have 64GB RAM or more you can leave the pagefile on auto. having a large enough pagefile reduces the amount of time the OS is swapping data out, and reducing disk activity, which can often create stutters for people. thanks 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Just make sure there is plenty of room on the drive as having a full one with the pagefile can create more issues. 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? That is generally an important advise to SSD users, that isn't communicated enough. SSDs shouldn't be filled to the brim or it will reduce performance AND lifetime significantly. Best is to stay below 70-75%. 2 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
