Hi,

sorry for overlooking this thread,

we will take a closer look, maybe a combination of heat being masked by ambient temps and the helo's are using IR deflectors?

Hi @BIGNEWY

Thanks for responding. Yeah I already asked the Campaign Creator Badger633 on his campaign thread and he said:

"Doesn’t look right. Can you submit it as a bug to ED please. The more that raise it the quicker they will fix it. As I said it’s nothing the campaign scripting can control. To be honest working on the latest campaign have noticed in some A2A engagement an increased difficulty getting a 9x lock. "

I think they are just normal helicopters without any IR deflectors.

IR Suppressors are fitted it seems, I have tested a quick mission of my own and all seems normal, get all the expected tones and uncage for lock tone.

try this simple mission let me know if you see the same.

x4 Mi-8 ahead low, IR suppressors fitted

So I just tried the AIM 9x Test mission you provided. seems working fine with the 9X's lock and tone. I just posted on Badger633's Campaign ED sub forum and asked him about the IR deflectors, mission storywise the helicopters should not be equipped with IR deflectors I believe. So probably the IR deflectors are the cause of the problem in the mission, Badger633 said he will check it.

there maybe something else going on, will need more investigation, but using a simple test mission it seems ok and they also have IR suppressors.

At the moment I do not see a reason for the issue in the campaign mission.

resaving the mission may help and might be worth a try.
