Tshark Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Been trying to get the Huey multi-crew working with the side gunners. Used to be a player could jump into a side gunner (without head tracking) and have a down the gunsight view that is mouse controlled. Now when going to a side gunner you cannot see the gunsight due to a gunner body in the way. This is the same in single player on the ground switching to a gunner position. I have tried using the "hide pilot body" key command and option with no effect. 9800X3D (5.21GHz Turbo), MSI RTX 4090 OC 24GB, ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING Motherboard, G. Flappie Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 I don't have a gunner body in the way. Do you, when you replay my track? If you do, please attach your dcs.log. You might have a conflicting mod. UH-1H side gunner.trk ---
Tshark Posted January 24, 2024 Author Posted January 24, 2024 Thanks for the reply Flappie. I tried the track and I can look down the gunsight. I found that for some reason when I enter the gunner position my default view is looking at the back of the other gunner. When I turn around to face my gun I can not look down the gunsight. Also the gun jumps to full traverse side to side when aiming. I uninstalled all mods with no luck and tried it on another pc that has never had a mod on it with the same results. Thanks again for the help Here is the log file: dcs.log 9800X3D (5.21GHz Turbo), MSI RTX 4090 OC 24GB, ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING Motherboard, G. Flappie Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 In your latest dcs.log, I see a lot of active mods. Some of them cause errors: 2024-01-24 02:53:35.776 ALERT Scripting (Main): loadfile: can't open 'C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/Atlantic_Conveyor_SS/Database/C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/Atlantic_Conveyor_SS/Atlantic_Conveyor_SS.lua' 2024-01-24 02:53:35.776 ERROR Scripting (Main): [string "C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/Atlantic_Conveyor_SS/Database/db_units_ships.lua"]:31: attempt to call global 'error' (a nil value) 2024-01-24 02:53:35.777 ERROR Scripting (Main): [string "C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/Atlantic_Conveyor_SS/Atlantic_Conveyor_SSRunwaysAndRoutes.lua"]:17: attempt to index global 'GT' (a nil value) 2024-01-24 02:53:35.791 INFO Scripting (Main): OBSOLETE mount_vfs_sound_path() used in C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/FRENCHPACK 491 CORE/entry.lua 2024-01-24 02:53:35.792 ALERT Scripting (Main): loadfile: [string "C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/FRENCHPACK 491 CORE/Fr..."]:161: unexpected symbol near ',' 2024-01-24 02:53:35.804 INFO Scripting (Main): OBSOLETE mount_vfs_sound_path() used in C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/tech/Milan_Gazelle/entry.lua 2024-01-24 02:53:35.816 INFO Scripting (Main): OBSOLETE mount_vfs_sound_path() used in C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/aircraft/A-4E-C/entry.lua 2024-01-24 02:53:35.840 INFO Scripting (Main): OBSOLETE mount_vfs_sound_path() used in C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/aircraft/UFO/entry.lua 2024-01-24 02:53:35.845 ALERT Scripting (Main): loadfile: [string "C:\Users\edges\Saved Games\DCS\Mods/aircraft/VSN_UFO/VSN_UFO.lu..."]:518: '}' expected (to close '{' at line 516) near '{' ... Solution Tshark Posted January 25, 2024 Author Solution Posted January 25, 2024 Flappie, you were right it was the mods. Something changed with the recent DCS updates and the mods started causing the trouble. Since I had the same problem on the PC I "thought" had no mods installed, I had ruled them out in my troubleshooting. After your response above, I dove deeper into that installation and found several of the same mods. I deleted the mods on both PCs and now views work as they should. Lesson learned! Thanks again for your help. 9800X3D (5.21GHz Turbo), MSI RTX 4090 OC 24GB, ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING Motherboard, G.
