LuseKofte Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 (edited) Been using a Polish custom made stick for a while. I very reluctant decided to go for a ffb stick. Since Brünner users reported a bit of overheating problems and price was pretty high I ordered the Rhino by VP Force. I must say that for a rotor head and occasionally fixed wing flyer this was a good choice. I expected a one year wait, but it took only 4 weeks for me. Might be a buyer that rejected his order. in DCS this stick work perfectly. You can remove the spring effect in flight and choose to fly with a stick staying put where you leave it just by a mouse click. It got strong motors and adjustments have to be made by caution. But so far it’s internal fans not yet started. It seems like it is not prone to overheating by my use. I bolted it to my chair and have books to support it just until I decide the best positions and high for it Edited January 30, 2024 by LuseKofte 1 1

LuseKofte Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 Well it seems like when this thing started I was apparently the 320 th one that reserved one in Discord. I was not following this up, but down the line I should have made a reservation in their website. When I finally did it happened to be just in time. I was still in queue and formalised it by doing formalities in their website. I do not know where you can see your list. Might be on discord. I now have fastened it and found ideal position for it

Dogmanbird Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 (edited) Hi LuseKofte, Can I please ask - when making very tiny inputs with the rhino (just 1 or 2 millimetres of movement at the grip) is there any kind of stiction or break-through force required, before the stick moves? Thank you Edited February 9, 2024 by Dogmanbird

Thank you Hi Dogmanbird, I found this thread whilst looking for something else and saw your unanswered question. In case you're still wondering, there is no initial stiction or break-through that I can detect. I'm running mine in dead-stick mode for flying the Apache and Huey i.e. move stick, let go, it stays in place. I would however note that for significant inputs, I tend to press and hold the force trim release button which in my setup gives completely unrestricted movement until I release the button. I played with numerous configurations (so many control options available) and never quite had something I was completely happy with so decided to try another users profile which I found on the VP Force discord which worked beautifully. The Rhino when compared to the Virpil CM3 and Orion2 clutch based bases (I've owned both and both had horrible stiction) is absolutely God Tier for helicopter flying. Edited April 22, 2024 by Murphyd

Thank you Sorry, I did miss this question as well...The software in the Rhino is pretty configurable. You don't have any break force, but there is a setting for it if you wish to have (an area of the travel around the center where the motors won't engage). No stiction at all with the power and the USB connected as there is an anticogging algorithm R7-5800X3D 64GB RTX-4090 LG-38GN950 N/A Realsimulator FFSB MKII Ultra, VKB Stecs Max, Winwing F-16EX Throttle, Winwing Orion (Skywalker) Pedals, Razer Tartarus V2 SpeedMaster Flight Seat, JetSeat
