I was going to post this earlier but forgot...

Windows update is pushing new saitek drivers. They are published on March 5, 2009. These newer drivers are version 6.6.34 WHQL drivers. The problem is if you unplug your stick or move it to a different port, or anything that makes the driver install Vista will grab them from windows update..

The problem comes in when not every device gets updated properly and basically screws up the function of your stick. I had to munually update all the HID devices in device manager and each time I checked it downloaded a new driver... you need to manually do this for everything .... This also affects the cyborg keyboards.

When I look into my Device Management in Windows Configuration screen and I open the Saitek Magic Bus tree and check on all the devices listed there they all show 6.6.2 dated feb 10th 2009. This is in Windows Vista 32bit.

Looking for driver updates tells me I already have the latest drivers.

Are those X52 Pro drivers only? Or maybe 64bit version?

I can confirm this update hassle for the Saitek X52Pro for Vista 64 only - driver version 6.2.2.4 for Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller (HID) by Saitek is O.K.; using the Microsoft Update for this device in the devicemanager ( wich you usualy wouldn´t do as long as everything is running smooth ) will find and install an update, but that did cause trouble (for example: multifunction display not shining) yesterday, as a fix I had to reinstall the Saitek driver

never ever just blindly click ok to Windows updates, and only update your Saitek software and drivers manually... but for the MS Windows software, just look to see what it says is ready to update and install after it tells you an update is available.

Besides, you only want the Saitek SST Beta2 software anyways for Black Shark along with the latest drivers....
