You never have to worry about individual modules you have a license for. They will always be updated to latest version. 🫡
Cheers!

Hi all

A bit confused here (what's new?): The website says that that this is an upgrade for existing users for $9.99. How can it be an automatic update if you have to pay them first??

It says it's only valid till the end of July too.

That will be the FC2024. The FC3 successor, as FC3 will be fased out. So, if you already have FC3, you will get updates for FC3, while you need to purchase the upgrade if you want FC2024. If you acquire the upgrade, you will be able to download it after the next core update. Like I wrote above, you will automatically get updates for all modules you have a licence for and have installed. There are no "individual" update paths. You either have the latest version, or you don't.
Cheers!

Does anybody know what else it adds beyond the lower fidelity F-5, Mig and Sabre?

I already own full fidelity versions of those aircraft so if that's the only addition I won't get it. But if there's new campaigns and missions then that's something I'll definitely be interested in.

I wish they'd make things clear! So it isn't 'dropping' in the next update, it's a new version of the same game but with extra planes, it's not out yet, and you've got to buy it by the end of next month. Have I got that right now?

There are two separate things. The initial OP asked about a different thing: He/She was asking about about a cockpit texture update for the existing FC3 aircraft, that was published earlier by ED for free for existing FC3 owners (unrelated to the FC2024 thing).

The FC2024 product is a different thing. A "new" FC version that includes 3 additional aircraft (F-5,F-86,Mig-15) that have been dumbed down to Flaming cliff standard (i.e. no clickable cockpit switches, dumbed down navigation, radios, radar etc).  This will be available as a paid upgrade for existing FC3 owner for 9.99 or as a new standalone product for new customers that dont have FC3 at a higher price.

When it will actually release I didnt track and neither did I check wether the 9.99 price offer times out at some point. Hope this clears it up a bit

According to @bignewy: The update is "Planned for 26th currently but that could change depending on QA testing for the whole of DCS and its modules." I think that is for FC2024 as well.

Here's all the info:

Flaming Cliffs (FC) 2024 will expand the series with the inclusion of three new aircraft: the FC: F-5E, FC: F-86F, and FC: MiG-15bis.

Existing Flaming Cliffs 3 owners with F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, J-11, Su-33, Su-25, MiG-29, and MiG-29S, can upgrade to the new version for a early mover $9.99 USD fee, offering an affordable way to enjoy these great additions. This special offer will only be available until the end of July, thereafter the upgrade price will increase to $14.99. You can also purchase the FC: F-5E, FC: F-86F, and FC: MiG-15bis individually for the price of $14.99 USD each.

@baldeagle611 If you already have FC3, you can, optionally, buy the upgrade to FC2024 if you wish. Otherwise FC3 stays the same, even after the future DCS update, unless there are specific updates/fixes/additions to the current FC3 aircraft.

Confused on FC3. I own it. It's listed in my account under modules.  I have purchased and downloaded FC4 at the discount price but game keeps prompting me that FC3 is available. I click and it downloads and restarts but the prompt shows up again that FC3 is available to download.

How can I get rid of this?

Don't worry about it and wait for next patch. ED messed up a little. FC3 does not exist anymore, superseded by FC2024. The modules included in FC3/FC2024 are "devided into/installed as" individual modules now, finally!
