Hi there

Pretty new to DCS and have been using the MSFFB joystick for both collective and cyclic on UH-1H. Looking to amp up the realism a bit and now have purchased a Thrustmaster Warthog stick for cyclic.  Been reading about mods to soften the spring but I'm also looking to add a stick extension. I'd been keen to hear from anyone with recommendations on the optimal stick extension length and whether I would still need to do the spring mod if I'm adding an extension.

Also looking at economical options for a collective.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Hi, I am using TM Warthog stick with 12 cm extension. https://mfg-sim.com/warthog-extensions/

I also removed the main spring and I am very satisfied with it. https://youtu.be/aBMBR8M0z2E?si=ljPPiwHDnyjZ9sc3

This is my Virpil Collective base: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-rotor-tcs-plus-base.html

And Virpil Collective Grip: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-hawk-60-collective-grip.html

Not an economic option, I admit. 🙂

I 3D printed a 40cm and run stock spring.

Works great

Nice job. Did you try to run it without it like in rl?

Apologies to revive an older thread, but I’ve been looking for feedback regarding a modded TM Warthog stick as a cyclic.
Is there any stiction when pushing/pulling the stick diagonally?

I’ve used both WinWing & Virpil sticks springless with dampers, but both have terrible stiction, making small movements all but impossible (I’ve applied Nyogel & it made almost no difference).

What do you mean by stiction? A friction?
