Realistic AI for single player in for all air craft

Recommended Posts

Single player needs to have AI more realistic in performance. How about just a scalability function where things like plane performance can be dumbed down. I know this has been discussed to death, but it is a major weakness for those of us who fly in single player for many reasons. Perhaps just a set of performance parameters that can be input, say increase decrease by a percentage. Also setup an input for various failure rates on the AI craft for various mechanical issues. I believe that the war birds are probably second string, but it would be nice to make them less superman and more Clark Kent.

Those things can be used, but they have their own problems.

This has been requested before. One of the options is a maintenance setting for aircraft. So we could choose say 100% (factor fresh) or 0% (plane is on its last legs). The former would give max performance, the latter would see reduced engine thrust and increased drag, reduced g limit, reduced radar range (maybe avionics, engine, etc could have their own settings).

I think it's a good option, I just don't know how hard it would be to add to DCS while being realistic. Though to be honest when concerning the AI, a simple model would probably work.

Until we get (if we get) a 109G6 I would love for a G6 check mark to the AI. Can't do anything about that 30 in the nose or finer aerodynamics. But it would limit HP, max speed, max climb speed etc. A bit annoying flying a spitfire campaign in 42/43(or even mid 44) against 109s that much much faster. When you should be faster in your spitfire. It doesn't appear that removing MW50 has any affect on AI.

I'm tired of paid single player campaigns that end up being impossible because of a pitiful AI; the wigam not only often do not do what they are asked, but end up doing incomprehensible crazy things, there are many super doped airplanes.

This is frustrating for the players, but I don't even want to think about it for the campaign creators.
