asparagin Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 i expected the su25t. i think it even has the shkval. but i think if i'll start with lock on then it should be something like a2a combat. S77th-konkussion Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Why would you expect an operationally non-existant aircraft to be modeled in DCS? ;) That's right. Kind of like that "Ka-50 Black Shark" contraption. Are there even double digit airworthy units in the world? :D 1 [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Yes, there are, and they are in fact operational. Su-25T's on the other hand are a nearly non-existant species, let alone endangered or operational ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
GGTharos Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I believe the Russian airforce operates more than a dozen, close to twenty units. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
asparagin Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 Why would you expect an operationally non-existant aircraft to be modeled in DCS? ;) i said going from dcs back to lock on. not about what will come next, there are a couple of posts on that theme. i was asking because i didn't play lock on, and i was thinking of learning to fly a plane from there. since i like dcs, i was wondering what other people who also like dcs, fly in lock on. this is so i get a bit of help in making my decision. right now i'm thinking of su-27. Lav69 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Su-25T and A10. Get Ruggbutts terrain mod. Really makes Lock On a beauty.
Feuerfalke Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I believe the Russian airforce operates more than a dozen, close to twenty units. So more than all active KA-50s? :D Really, why should ANYBODY expect that plane in a DCS module. :P MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
GGTharos Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 More than what? It operates 12-20 Ka-50's. It operates no Su-25T's, and in fact, AFAIK, no one does. I could be wrong ;) So, let me put it another way. WHy would you expect a plane in DCS that is not being used, is not being developed, and is not being sold to anyone? Who on earth would want a military simulator for it? Now you are a little closer to the answer. To re-iterate what has been said before ... if you want to see it in DCS, it more than likely will have to be contracted by a military beforehand for the military branch of Eagle's simulations ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Feuerfalke Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 You're saying that FlamingCliffs was about a fantasy plane? Damn, if I only had know that. On the other hand, wasn't the Su25T upgraded to the TM and then redesignated as Su-39 which saw action in Afghanistan and was sold to a couple of other states? Well, I'm surely not an expert on that matter. I'd vote for something else anyway: Take 2 years time for the next addon after the A10C and release and addon with 2 competative aircraft like F15C and Mig29S. ;) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
asparagin Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 ... well then i'll just quote myself ... i think most of you here play(ed) lomac. if you would go back now from black shark to lock on, which plane would you choose to learn flying? eventually which mods? 159th_Viper Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 People who have migrated en-masse from LockOn to BS would not have to 'learn' to fly a fixed-wing again......it's like riding a bike ;) And I'll hesitate to add that in all probability the majority are still dabbling in both to a larger degree. GGTharos Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 You're saying that FlamingCliffs was about a fantasy plane? Damn, if I only had know that. Flaming cliffs was, AFAIK, about a prototype aircraft that was never used operationally. On the other hand, wasn't the Su25T upgraded to the TM and then redesignated as Su-39 which saw action in Afghanistan and was sold to a couple of other states? Well, I'm surely not an expert on that matter. I don't actually know, but given that Russia is upgrading to Su-25SM, I'd say no. I'd vote for something else anyway: Take 2 years time for the next addon after the A10C and release and addon with 2 competative aircraft like F15C and Mig29S. ;) Not going to happen. S77th-konkussion Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I read that production of the 50 did resume -but only 5 more 50's were built before it was stopped again. Or resources were "reallocated" to the 52, something like that... I didn't know how many were already "operational" (used loosely) Besides- this was on Wiki- so not worth much to begin with. Just having a little laugh. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I don't know why you'd use the term loosely. Not only are they operational, they've seen service. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
