milo1973 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Currently pilots are insta-unalived if they land on water. We often simulate (C)SAR to rescue pilots, who can then return to the fight. This is currently only possible if they bail out over land. Can't we give the little guys a dingy or something? Thanks! 6
bies Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 With the new Dynamic Campaign and CSAR missions it will be a must. Especially it's easy to code in a rudimentary way, even the old sims had this function.
Gunfreak Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Would be rather essential for Pacific too. Would be annoyed having flown 300 miles back to the carrier, just to die because I had to ditch 500 feet from carrier. 1 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

It would be great if this was made possible in vanilla DCS. In the meantime, you can use scripts like this: Try this as a demo (it's based on DML so you can easily see how you can create water-based CSAR as well: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335652/ 2
9thHunt Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 As I do a lot of flying over water (and ejecting) I would love this. I would love if the pilot spawned a little raft on water landing. 1
Evoman Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) This request has come up several times over the years and for good reason. The first time I ejected over water I was shocked that the pilot drowned instantly just like it used to happen in the older versions of GTA from 20 years ago. I definitely would like to see at a minimum an automatic inflatable life saver and green dye just like when Maverick and Goose ejected in their infamous flat spin incident.
