Prevent Jester going STT?

I seem to have run across a problem recently where Jester takes a liking to a single contact and constantly locks it up in STT.  I find myself constantly spamming for him to break lock, but before I can get into the menu to tell him to go TWS Auto/Manual he will return to STT.

Is there something I am missing here to prevent this behavior?

I don't know about preventing it, but if you have PLM mode mapped to a HOTAS button, what i usually do when he does that is tap the PLM button.  This will override his STT and set it back to a default radar mode from which Jester will usually default to TWS.  The only drawback really is that it take a second or two to repopulate the scan because the TWS has to make those 2 sweeps again before displaying tracks.

TBH, I have never had Jester go STT uncommanded. Anytime I want an STT I have to ask specifically for it via the Jester menu.

Seems most peculiar.

Jester never STT a target uncommanded or unless scripted in a mission. You probably used one of the pilot ACM modes.

I suspect a double binding somewhere - you're pressing a button to accomplish a task that's also been assigned to the Jester Menu > STT lock > target ahead function.

I didn't realize that could be done but this has definitely happened in otherwise very scripted campaign missions.

If you mean HB's Reforger II then yes, it may be the case, as it is expected from Jester to lead some interceptions.
