Hammer1-1 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Just received my Virpil AH64D grip yesterday and Im mapping out components now, but having an issue mapping B/S and Polarity. IN the settings page theres only a single keybind for this, but on the grip its a 2 separate buttons. How is this supposed to be mapped accurately? Help appreciated! 1 Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot. corbu1 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I have only set polarity to right button press. I don‘t have set B/S on the collective. Early access guide says this has no function. Not sure if the real AC has this functionality on the button. 1 DCS Version: 2.9.15.9408 Modules: UH-1H - SA342 - KA-50 BS3 - MI-24P - MI-8MTV2 - AH-64D - CH-47F - OH-58D - UH-60L(Mod, n.i.) - OH-6A(Mod, n.i.) - A-10CII - F-16C - F/A-18C - AJS37 - F-14 - MiG-21bis - JF-17 - Mirage F1 - MiG-29A - (prepurchase) - FC2024 -Combined Arms - Supercarrier - NTTR - Normandy2.0 - Channel - Persian Gulf - Syria - SA - Sinai - Afghanistan - Kola - Iraq - Cold War Germany — Waiting for: BO-105 - AH-1G/F(Mod) DCS-Client: 9800X3D, 64GB 6200, RTX3090, 1TB M2 NVMe(win10), 4TB M2 NVMe(DCS), VR VivePro2, PointCTRL, VaicomPro, Wacom Intuos S with VRK v2Beta DCS-DServer: 11600KF, 64GB 3600, GTX1080, 1TB M2 NVMe(win10), 2TB M2 NVMe(DCSDServer), DCS Olympus Simpit: NLR Flightsim Pro Cyclic: TM Warthog Grip with 30cm Extension + VPforce Rhino FFB FW Stick: TM Warthog Grip and Base, Throttle: TM Warthog Pedals: Komodo Sim. with Dampers Collective: VPC Rotorplus+AH-64D Grip Other: NLR HF8, Buttkicker (3*MiniConcert), TotalControls AH64D MPD‘s and EUFD, Alain Dufour’s AH-64 TEDAC, TM MFD, Streamdecks (1*32,3*15,1*6), VPC CP#1

As BigNewy stated above (marked as the solution in this thread), the B/S position of the BS/PLRT switch has no function in this version of AH-64D that was equipped with M-TADS. The boresight function was re-located to the MPD and used in conjunction with the Collective cursor (or MPD button), to permit the addition of different functions altogether in later versions of aircraft. But in this aircraft version, the switch position had no function. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head

Hopefully a keybind will be developed for use with the Virpil Collective. Edited April 29, 2024 by Warlock99

You might want to check your information, it, worked in 2010 after that I don't know. But, I'm pretty sure it was still there in the 64E. Thanks for the information though, I'll check with some friends still in the business.

There were still many aircraft in the fleet that were not equipped with M-TADS by even 2010, that were still equipped with the legacy TADS. This switch position was used for switching between the different cameras in the M-PNVS turret, but prior to the additional sensors being fielded it was an unused switch as a growth position. It definitely wasn't there in the AH-64E. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head
