Controller Settings

I just played Free Flight - Kobuleti landing. Before I started, I had to reset all controls. Moment after I landed, I found that all Control Settings are wiped out. I NEVER had this problem with Win 10 pro, i5-6402, GTX- 1060. Now I am on Win 11 pro, i7-12900, RTX 3060. Having  all the troubles. I have even uninstalled MTT ( multithreading ) option.

How do i save Control Settings? please help.

The easy way is to copy your Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/FA-18C_hornet folder.  But if it's getting corrupted everytime I'd make a backup copy of that file, then delete the original and recreate your bindings from scratch and see if that helps.  That sounds like you have a corrupted file.

What exactly do you mean by "reset"?

And also…why would you „uninstall“ the MT version of DCS. Assuming that the problem is related to MT is a completely random assumption on your part.

Dear Phantom 711, DCS worked fine on Win 10 Pro, CPU i5-6402, GTX 1060 etc without MTT. I read that MTT is not essential. So I uninstalled it.

Most annoying was the Warning Tone after a Heavy Landing. there is a ''Warning tone Silence button'' as per the print out but not in the dropdown menu on my PC. One answer was : the button is 'below APU Start Switch?; then, 'Behind the Canopy jettison lever ( unreachable?)? Thanks for your reply. Vishkar.

It does not avoid the pain, but maybe it helps mitigating it. There's another thread where it is stated that your settings could still be there and restorable:

Others posted some methods to save control settings in the same thread.

Oh yeah, That 'Horn silence button' looks to be behind the canopy jettison lever. But looks inaccessible. May I know which KEYBOARD BUTTON PRESS will do it for me please. Thanks.]

There is a keyboard bind for "Warning Tone Silence Button". It has no default binding, so you need to find an unused key or key comination.
Edit: "Q" and "J" seem to be unused, so you could bind the command to either one.

Thanks! I assigned 'Q'to silence the u/c warning horn. It works. but the u/c handle RED LIGHT still keeps flashing. Anyway i can continue with the T/O etc.

Supanova had put up a nice ICLS video. But there is no 'Warning Horn'' although the ROD at touchdown shows about 830 ft/ mt ( above the 750 ft/mt limit)

That might have been before the fairly recent flight model update made the landing gear more sensitive to breakage, but the 750 ft/min isn't really a hard limit.  I've landed harder and not broken gear with the new model.  I haven't really properly tested this theory yet, but my feeling is if you land with wings perfectly level (spreading the load evenly between right and left gear) you're less likely to break things than if you're slightly banked.
