Looking for help, I've been hosting a private server for a group of friends recently but since lastnight we've been having connection issues.

They can't see my server on the list and if they try to connect via IP, they get a message saying my server is offline.

We can all connect to other public servers like 4ya etc and I can connect to their servers.

Can anyone help? I'm not very savy when it comes to network issues etc. I've tried turning off my antivirus firewall and real-time scanning but that didn't make any difference.

Thanks

Is your port forwarding still set up correctly? Your IP adress can change from time to time so you have to check it's still set up to the correct adress.

Again, I'm no good when it comes to this sort of thing. How do I know what the correct ip address is?

There are too many configuration and combination to provide a step by step instruction.
First of all check your computer local ip
Open CMD and tipe ipconfig

Take a note of your local IPv4 address.
Now open your browser and go in the configuration page of your router, and check for something like port forward / NAT rules or something similar (this part unfortunately can be completely different based on router manufacturer, so you need to figure out checking instruction/manual)

Basically you need to tell at router that have to pass incoming traffic for both TCP and UDP port 10308 (unless you've changed) to your local ip address.

10308 start, 10308 end, both internal and external, make sure to apply for both TCP and UDP protocol

OFC check that you didn't change the port in game, when click on NEW SERVER, check the correct port there, default is 10308

That is only one part of the equation, you also need to find out your CURRENT Public-IPv4 address which your friends need to know to find your server.

Either look it up in your router via browser, it should state it somewhere  -or- visit a website that shows your IP that you connect from, which is usually your dynamic IP address

that does change on certain occasions, like re-connect, time-value ( aka every 24h ) etc..  but it does change for dynamic DSL/Cable/Fibre connections.

http://www.whatismyip.com   will show your connection settings.

Have your pals PING your IP, if the ping doesnt work you need to find the reason for that.  Unless your router drops PING packets one should be able to ping your IPv4

and verify your home connection is accessible from "world".

The worst could be that you are behind/inside a CGN ( Carrier Grade Network ) that would suddenly void all attempts to host ANY server, DCS, https, mail...etc.. all impossible.

But if it worked a day ago, chances are high that you are not in such an unlucky situation of a CGN setup. Usually CGNs for homes have a NATed IPv4 but have a fully valid/public IPv6,

which DCS doesn't yet support afaik.

No, I've not changed it and it still says 10308 in the port box.

My public Ipv4 address on "whats my Ip" is that same as the Ip address that my friends have within DCS. I'll try and grab one of them later to ping me

When you're in the port forward page of your router, you don't have to put your public IP address (whats my ip), you need to place your internal IPv4 address, so the one that you can see with the ipconfig command
