Additional option (medium mixed) for terrain texture levels: with only airfields in high detail

As the title mentions, an additional option is required: medium, with airfields in high detail and with the rest of the textures in low detail. The maps are getting heavier and heavier. Many, like me, prefer a low level of textures because in flight you often still do not notice many small details of the terrain, but you feel a significant increase in performance. But during the taxi, as well as when you take off and land, the low level of detail causes frustration. IMHO, we really need such an optimization method as the medium option, especially for the Normandy map, on which the low textures of airfields look really terrible.

Its not often that I agree with a wishlist item, but this suggestion is really good and it would help a lot of users that don’t have the latest and greatest hardware, and unlike other wishes, it does not look hard to implement… @BIGNEWY please, can you pass it on to the DCS development team? 🙂

I think you already get this benefit with settings like forest radius (?) and visibility range etc.

Texture detail is not the same as radius and visibility.

Does the game even use high res textures too far away for the player to see? That wouldn’t make much sense.
