DCS generally works fine for me except in one area - when I go into the Adjust Controls Screen I have regular lock ups that need a hard restart about 75% of the time or resolve themselves after a minute or so about a quarter of the time.

This happens in multi, single player modes and in the controls section of the pregame seettings tab.

This evening (F4 release) it has crashed about 15 times, SO annoying! Geforce experience shows CPU and GPU use both low (under 50%).

Try to rename the input folder under Saved Games. If that solves it, you have some corruption in the settings of one of your modules. Copy the folders back one by one until you the find the culprit.
Cheers!

Thank you. I think I understood that? I renamed the input folder to input 2 and created a new input folder. Now I copy the subfolders from Input2 to Input until I find the problem?

Not quite. I'll be a little more elaborate. Keep your input2 folder, and start DCS. Now starting DCS would have created a new input folder, and it shouldn't be an issue you did it manually. Now, start DCS, and check if everything works. You can check the input settings even if you don't hop into a module. If you can successfully do that, and alter what you need for the Phantom. Then I would hop into it in a QS mission to make sure. THEN I would exit DCS, and copy the folders back, one by one. Which can obviously be pretty tedious.

Could you please attach a dcs.log file so we can find some clues?

And the latest zip file from your Logs folder as well.

If you have a Virpil device, try this:
