Is it me, or are load times back to historic highs? Seems like since the last couple of updates, it takes FOREVER for the game to load. Load times back around the new year seemed pretty reasonable. Am I the only one seeing this?

Has make a repair? What is your PC configuration?

Thanks @Silver_Dragon. To be clear, it works fine, just takes forever to load after double clicking the DCS shortcut. I'm using the multi-threaded version. PC spec is Ryzen 9 7950X, RTX 4090, 2TB M2.SSD, 64GB DDR5. It just seems like the loading times for DCS get longer and longer. At one point it was pretty quick / reasonable.

Have you tried to exclude the DCS core folders and Saved Games folders from your Anti-Virus solution?

Hmmm.... I think so, but it is worth a double-check. I'll have a look this evening. Fair to assume you're seeing consistently reasonable loading times?

Fair to assume yes. While my system is veeeeery old, I haven't seen any increase, except after updates when it needs to rebuild the shaders.
Cheers!

They seem to have increased noticeably for me as well after the latest update. Loading time of the game itself, missions loading times might be comparable I think.

I excluded folders in Win Defender back when Spud did his video on the subject, but that didn't really help with loading times or stutters (albeit they were acceptable for me on my PC anyway), so removed exclusions after short tests. Will try them once again now and see what happens.

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing. Mission load times haven't really changed, but taking longer for the game to load up.

Try a live log viewer on the DCS.log to monitor what's going on. Before I excluded DCS, it took like TWO MINUTES to scan the Tomcat sounds or something.

FYI, after trying exclusions again, the game starts MUCH faster now.

There must be something in 2.9.5 specifically that Defender doesn't like and crunches on it longer than it should. Log viewer would probably show what was it, but I ain't going back 😉 .

Sure enough, I didn't have the dcs folders excluded from Windows Defender. And wouldn't you know it... that did the trick! Thanks @MAXsenna for the solution!
