Sorata Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) I saw this on YouTube so I bought it on Steam. I don't need this for DCS but decided to try it with it (got it for Elden Ring). I have a 4090 FYI but I lowered the in-game FPS cap on DCS to 70 since I have a 4k 144hz monitor. Now my System can run DCS all max settings at 4k DLAA from 120-the 200ish fps range depending on location, altitude etc etc but I thought to try this with it for people who don't have high-end cards thus I limited it to 70....and sure enough this app made DCS jump from 70 -144. Your thoughts? Hopefully, this option helps some of you guys with older cards who want more fps smoothness and are willing to take an occasional blurry spot on screen. EDIT: tested again but moved the frame limit to the max 300 in DCS, yes it causes some artifacts (blurry spot for a second) but the F-16 free flight mission in the caucus region flying low and fast nets 215 fps at times with all in-game settings maxed and tree density, etc to the max. Trying to get a screenshot of it but the DCS in-game screenshot function won't capture the overlay from this app and the Nvidia overlays. The DCS ingame FPS monitor shows the real FPS speed does drop some when it's used but the shown fps to the monitor and Nvidia app does rise a good bit and is perceievable. Oceandar Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Interesting.....does it work with VR ? Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze
speed-of-heat Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 dunno , but the instructions say lock to half your screen refrate ... which feels a lot like motion smoothing functionally ... YSIAD_RIP Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) I have been testing it out with my RADEON RX 6800 and the latest DCS version. I gave up on AMD's built in driver Fluid Motion Frames running in full screen because I had it working once but then it just never picked up DCS properly again. For my case LSFG 2x is working surprisingly well when I limit my frames to just under 72Hz (71.655 approx) using RTSS. I have a FreeSync 144Hz display. The DCS Built in frame limiter and Radeon Chill are OK, but resulted in noticible stutter when using headtracking. Cheers.
