Flying missing one. A part is missing about the vehicle to check from what I remember :

Spoiler

In the kiowa version they check the vehicles by blowing them up. "They're leaving", as in their soul is leaving earth. Ruthless.

Yea but I never had the message about a vehicle arriving. As shown on the screenshot, drop the troops then boom.

I can't really understand what you are saying or asking here.

I just saw this in the first mission.
There seems to be something missing about checking vehicles - what happened for me is the chinook drops the troops and the apache says they will cover.
I noticed 2 cars nearby and thought "hmm they are behaving differently from the civilian traffic" but there were no radio messages.
Then the vehicles started shooting at the cars, which exploded, and there was the radio message about "we checked the vehicles, no weapons, they're leaving".
I'm not sure what was supposed to happen but it didn't make much sense!

Edit: Also in the briefing it says the standard loadout is gun+APKWS, but the loadout given is 4x hellfires. Easy to change, but the briefing/mission don't match.

Immerse yourself in the world. You can't hear all radio conversations. Things may not be what they seem. 😉

As for the loadouts, gun and APKWS was standard, but the community wanted some variety, so we gave it to them. Thanks for the heads up on that text!

Just saying that in the orignal campaign you had more messages about this car.

Ah. Got it. Thank you! Maybe that can be explored and recovered in a future campaign update. I have a feeling it broke when dcs factions and/or weapon status was changed.

I bought the Kiowa yesterday and was thinking how awesome it would be to fly Dixmude with it, but I know the developer is finished with DCS World, so thought it was a lost cause.

Pleased to find it here now - well done! I don't know if you are using the voices from the original campaign, but I have no objection (I did all the UK voices) and I'm sure @dimitriov will be fine with it too, if you ask him. If you want to, of course 😊

Can't wait to get stuck in.

*edit: I had a look at your other campaign conversion for the Hind and noticed some people mentioning bugs in the comments. Is it compatible with 2.9 without any edits?

Hey! Thanks for the awesome work you did for Dixmude! It is a campaign that will stay in my heart forever!

We have gone through each mission and confirmed it working, and slightly updated, for DCS 2.9. They may be some changes compared to what you remember, so keep an open mind. Enjoy!

Great work thank you!

Does anyone know if the original pdf that came with the gazelle for this campaign is available to download anywhere? I do not own it

So I just tried out mission 1. It was at night (which is fine I like night flying, just wasn't sure if it is intentional). And then once I got to the Observation point (waypoint #8) I am not sure what is supposed to happen.

The brief says just observer and don't fire unless fired upon, which I wasn't, so I just flew back to the FARP and there wasn't any radio communication after reaching the observation point to look into the town and find the enemy FARP.  I am sure there is something I am missing, just not sure what.

The first mission is not night, nor does it have an observation point. Are you certain you installed the campaign correctly and started the campaign via the campaign menu?

That solved my problem. I launched via the "Missions" menu in DCS, not the "Campaign" menu. It is interesting that by doing so I played an entirely different mission with voice acting, scripting, AI that followed me and behaved properly.

I might do a fresh install though because the sound of the AI Apache was not the correct sound.

Awesome. I am glad you got that sorted.

I'm downloading this tonight. I'm curious though, is part of the variety rocket/rocket (10lb'er) and/or rocket/hellfire (HFs on the right)?  Those were two very common loads IRL.

I don't remember. You can change it to your liking at the start of each mission.

I experimented to change some night missions to daytime from mission 6 onwards, also added a wingman and used some of the new rain options. Was wondering if the new time setting would compromise mission success criteria but so far so good I think. The rain and overcast clouds in the high mountains made it a more fun challenge both in terms of flying and the use of the MMS. I've always shunned night ops in DCS for obvious visibility reasons. But I have to say the night missions in the first half this this campaign have given me much practice and made me more open to doing night ops.
