Shibbyland Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Hi All, What's the correct setting in the bombing table to send to Jester for the CBU-52B? I can't see it as an option to select in the bomb type dropdown. Intending to drop in Direct mode. Cheers
AvroLanc Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I've been using the MK-20 Rockeye values. Works well enough. Be aware though that you need to plan a higher release height than Mk-20's. The CBU-52 has a 4s time fuze in the nose. In RL the M907 fuze could be set between 4-92 seconds in half second intervals. In DCS we're stuck with just 4s for now. Hopefully ED will implement better fuze options. But in any case, the 4s will need at least 1200ft AGL for a level release or at least 4000ft for a diving release to guarantee a good bomblet spread. 1
Shibbyland Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 Perfect thanks man. I've been doing 3000ft release at 380kts with a 30 degree dive. Mostly they're landing long as I'm using direct bombing. I want to use DL but for the life of me even after reading the manual I can't seem to figure it out. I short press the jester context with pipper on target then I hold the bomb release and pitch down to level off at my selected release altitude on speed but the bombs always drop the moment I press the bomb release. I wonder if I need to select my IP distance further from the target?
Nealius Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) I've been using DT without touching the Jester bombing notes at all. CBU-52 tend to hit slightly short for me. I correct by putting the bottom outer ring of the pipper on the target with about a 30-degree dive. Edited June 16, 2024 by Nealius
