Kosta Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Hello! "new" player here, I was thinking of getting the Viggen as my 2nd or 3rd module because I loved what I've seen so far of this beautiful machine, but I saw in the ED store that it's still listed as Early Access (after 5 years iirc), so I was wondering, what does it have left to include/fix/develop until it comes out of EA? 2
john4pap Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that the reason that's still EA is the last letter of AJS, "spaning" ie reconnaissance function of the aircraft that's not yet complete. Otherwise I find that it's complete. It's actually some eight years since its introduction.Sent from my M2012K11AG using Tapatalk
Szprynmann Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I second this question, it would be awesome to know what is the roadmap for this module. @Kosta: regarding Viggen itself I must say that it is one of my favourites, once you get to know its quirks (which isn't really that hard but requires some training) it is a pleasure to fly, especially if you don't have a lot of time. Take off, fly when you need to fly (low and fast), get rid of all your armament, go back, land, profit. Really, really awesome machine. It also comes with two or three campaings if I remember correctly, and the Red Flag is actually a good one for training purposes, as you need to apply many different types or armament, interact with the computer (e.g. setting ingress speeds, TOT etc)... Go for it and enjoy! Cheers, Szprynmann

There's also a great freeware campaign for it that's one of the best campaigns I've played in DCS: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316614/ The Viggen is also one of my favorites and I guess that's going to become more popular with Kola map.

I believe it won't take long to get my hands on it Yeah, campaigns in the Kola map it's something I'm really looking forward, I know it will take some time as the map it's still in the early phases of development. Sure they will be amazing! Edited June 20, 2024 by Kosta 1

Cheers, Szprynmann Its not completely up-to-date (for example the cockpit art overhaul has already shipped into DCS and so has the F-4E module) , but simply for reference: https://trello.com/b/HsMiJggJ/heatblur-public-roadmap Edited June 21, 2024 by Snappy 1
Glowingheat Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 It would be great to see the Viggen out of EA. Has the numbers on the gear doors been fixed yet - I saw they got implemented, but I never really saw them work properly. The soundset is what I'm most looking forward to however, but thats been three years, and I fear that with every new product release the Viggen gets a smaller fraction of Dev time - unless HB have a team for each module.

I can attest he's been hard at work on a bunch of great updates! https://forum.dcs.world/topic/344076-feedback-thread-viggen-patch-feb-22nd-2024/ Edited June 24, 2024 by Machalot 3 "Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5.
