I for one reached out to Moza marketing to see if I could get one early to review (fully paid) and it was a hard no. They only want reviewers with lots of followers, and there aren't many of those with FFB experience so I think we'll be out of luck for a while there. 1
Aapje Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 They have to spend time working with the reviewers (answering their questions, giving them new software releases, etc), so it's understandable that they want to limit the pool. According to the shipping date they gave, they should start delivering units pretty much now. But judging by the early pre-reviews, I expect them to either delay it or deliver it with software that is way behind the Rhino. Or most likely, both. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the 5 stages of grief among the early adopters, and then hopefully, they will improve the software relatively quickly (but I think that 6 months is optimistic to get at the level of the Rhino software). PS. Moza seems to not have made the reviewers sign a review embargo, which is really quite unprofessional and not very smart. You'd think that they would know better than that. 1

In comparison, my channel only has 8 subscribers, but I've been using the old MSFFB2 for almost 24 years. It is now out of warranty, so I modified it to meet my requirements. rapid Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Well they are struggling with the software for sure. My order was placed on the 27June which is now 6 weeks so they are behind on my order as advertised 4-6 weeks. My account has been stuck on "Processing" for 6 weeks so yes they are still trying to debug the Software. I would rather they get it right than half wrong. 1 Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. Aapje Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Just be aware that if you do or have done the pre-order, you are probably signing on for a fairly long period of dealing with missing functionality, bugs, etc. I'm fine with people going into this with two eyes wide open, but some just seem impatient and expect everything to work right away, which seems unrealistic to me. 2
rapid Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Still stuck on Processing no big issue I don't mind the wait. But while I am waiting I know no one has the Moza FFBase yet but going by the dimensions and visual size what or who do you think would offer the best solution in regards to desk mounting the unit? Just a thought as someone who receives one may find a very good desk mount solution so just posing the question in the mean time.. 1 Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. Aapje Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 The question is how the desk mount solutions will deal with the weight and the forces. Especially if people want to use long desk mounts. But interestingly, Monstertech does advertise their long units as working with VPForce: https://www.monster.tech/en/product/joystick-hotas-table-mount-long/ It's in the dropdown as an option. 3

zcaa0g Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I'm thinking about getting the Moza as a temp solution until Virpil releases their FFB, which my guess is 4th quarter of next year. I'm covered for the F-16 with the RealSimulator Ultra base and will have 100% compatibility with the Thrustmaster A-10 and F-18 grips. The Virpil WarBRD grip is simple so shouldn't be an issue so that would cover the Phantom and Sabre. So under the assumption that Moza can't address the analog axis for triggers, hats, and the F-14 DLC on the Virpil grips, I will use the VKB Ultimate grip with adapter and also purchase the VKB F-14 grip and get an adapter well. I use the two Virpil Alpha primes in a dual stick config, so them not being 100% compatible on the Moza base is not of consequence, since I wouldn't be using those there anyway. I am confident that Moza will implement individual forced feedback profiles as that aspect is easy to do. That's something they should have already implemented, but alas. With that said, the product isn't officially released yet. 1

rapid Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 (edited) Hi Guys, Found another chap doing a "little" review of the Moza. He is also going over the software which is nice. Now the version on the Website is 1.0.0.3 the version that he has is 1.0.0.4 according to what he says in the video but in the top right corner it says Firmware Version 1.1.1.3 so Moza is still tweaking it. He starts talking about it at around 1..10:56 Edited August 19, 2024 by rapid 1 Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. Aapje Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 @rapid The software desperately needs the ability to have per-plane settings. Although I guess you can make it work with the importable settings, by saving multiple profiles and loading the right one manually. And it's not all that helpful that he compares it to the Brunner. We desperately need a Rhino comparison. But it's a waiting game now. In September, we should see a flood of reviews and info.
zcaa0g Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Supposedly their latest software update from last week adds individual profiles and resolves the axis/button compatibility issues on at least some Virpil grips. Hopefully there will be an updated YouTube video soon by Jabbers or some other also competent reviewer. 1
Aapje Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Having fixed Virpil grips would be great. That's a major downside if it was to remain an issue. Anyway, I still expect that it'll be a rough ride for the early buyers, but let's hope that the software is at least stable, so you can successfully fly missions with it. If the effects are merely not up to par with the Rhino at first, that is much less of an issue than if the stick starts doing weird things. 1
Stellatny45 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Looks very promising, but it's painful to see lengthy videos using FBW aircraft when warbirds are where testing is most needed. 1 2

Interesting so does the Rhino enable saved profiles for different Air Frames? If it does that's very good, not long now I guess before the Net Explodes with more reviews. Aapje Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Yes, they do. If you haven't, I suggest reading the Rhino manual. It's really very good and tells you a lot about how it and the software works, even if you don't have one yourself. 1

Aapje Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 It might be for use with a rig. Their marketing is really weird though, as they advertise it primarily for use with suction cups. But aren't the suction cups the worst part of various Winwing products? 1
