Main Power Switch Issue

Today is the first full day I've had with the F-16 Module. I'm trying to work through the take-off and landing training missions. For both of them, the mission starts with the jet already powered up. And in both cases the Main Power switch is set to Battery when the mission starts. The switch is not bound to anything except the standard keyboard bind. Any ideas on how to correct this? I've also noticed that the Master Caution light is always on and can't be turned off.

Which training mission exactly and which map?

Assuming you mean the Caucasus "Taxi and Take-off" training:

I just tested and here the Power switch is set to Main Power on mission start. So nothing strange there on my side.

The Caution light is on, because the seat is not armed yet (yellow handle on the left front of the seat). If the caution light is on, check the caution panel on the right side to see what's wrong. In this case you'll see the "seat not armed" caution light)

If you keep having issues with the power switch, maybe better post a track file here.

System specs:

i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU

HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3

Do you have any switch bound to it, and have enabled sync with HOTAS at mission start in the global settings?

In hot starts (when plane is powered up and ready to fly) the Main power is switch is set to forward position (labled as MAIN PWR).

The middle positon (BATT) is intended to test the FLCS (Flight Control System) functions properly on battery power only (in so called cold start, before starting the engines).

Master Caution light is eluminating only because you did not yet arm your seat as sirrah explained.

That was the issue. I used a throttle mapping from the User Files section and didn't realize that was bound to a switch.

I'll have to check on the ejection handle issue again. As I recall, the Master Caution light was still lit even though the ejection seat was armed. And yes, these are the Caucasus map training missions.

Hi!

MAXsenna gave you the most common issue » sync with HOTAS enabled.

Master Caution also lights up if you are on wrong CAT I / CAT III config.

Cheers

Hi @mkel2010

Glad you sorted the switch issue.

As for the Master Caution light, what is the warning on the annunciator panel?

I haven't had a chance to check the Master Caution issue as I am currently out of town.

That said, I watched a video where someone reset the Master Caution with the Elec Caution Reset Button on the LEFT Console. Is that a necessary step in clearing the Master Caution?

As I mentioned before, in the taxi and take off Caucasus mission you are talking about in your OP, the only thing you need to do to have the caution light go off, is arm the seat.

If the caution light stays on after arming the seat, it will most probably be another hotas binding issue

I finally had a chance to look at the Master Caution issue. Arming the seat made the Master Caution light able to be extinguished. Sometimes on its own, sometimes by pressing the switch and once or twice I had to use the Electrical reset.
