Rocky49 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I have been trying to use the APKWS in a single player Mission I created on the Kola map. I set up the rockets as per the training mission provided by PC. The rockets just fly off the KW and fly downrange until they run out of inertia. My method of deployment works properly in other maps. Is anybody else experiencing this? It would be very strange that it depends on the map, but I can check. 1 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro

Is anybody else experiencing this? Sounds to me that you were in a hover, too close (less than 2km?) to the target and the APKWS didn't catch the laser or didn't have time to maneuver ... 1
Rocky49 Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 I'll try targeting from further away and see if that is the solution. LuseKofte Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 I noticed if I am too high they do fly over the target. Going lower they hit
Solution Rocky49 Posted June 26, 2024 Author Solution Posted June 26, 2024 (edited) So I found I could not hit targets under 2300 Meters? no matter how high I was Edited June 27, 2024 by Rocky49 spelling 1 System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
Rocky49 Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 (edited) I found I was too high for the shorter ranges. had to find the right height for the range and terrain Edited June 27, 2024 by Rocky49 spelling 1 System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
NeedzWD40 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 It also helps to elevate the nose quite a bit and wait until the missile is partway to the target before lasing, otherwise it tends to fly straight at the target and waste all its energy on a direct path.
