Pizzicato Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Hey all, I'm sure this has been asked 100 times already, but does anyone know of any good guides (or even forum threads) about improving head tracking with the G2? I'm assuming the lighting in my room is problematic, but I don't know how to go about analysing or improving it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S
The_Nephilim Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 yes the thing with the G2 and good headtracking is to have good lighting and something for the cameras to pick up on. ie no bare walls.. Annapolis81 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 My HP Reverb2 tracks better with simple lighting and stark shadowing-- not necessarily more light. Hope that helps. firefox121 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 try to shut down or cover monitor, sometimes reflections interferes in a bad way with reverb cameras. Also the light is imperative, on my setup I usually fly with lights off, monitor on and a govee lighting strap back on the monitor, and have no tracking issues. Check also the camera's lens, some times , taking the headset on ends with our fingers on the lens and cover them with dirt, I always clean the outside lens with a clean cloth. 1 Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick
Nodak Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Fly with your active game screen as small as possible on your monitor, less motion on it the better. It loves all the internal LED lighting from my new build with glass case, the keyboard, and the newer Virpils that light up, can fly in the dark with no room lighting.
