I haven't played the game for a few years since it was called DCS World Open Beta, and I purchased a number of DLCs for it back then. Today, I reinstalled it, noticed it was called DCS World Steam Edition, and now none of those DLCs are working, saying they are unauthorized. How do I authrorize them in the latest version? Considering what I paid for them, I'd hate to think I lost them all.

The names would imply that you used to run stand alone DCS and likely bought the DLC's direct from ED.  You appear to have now installed the STEAM version and you will likely have to go through a few hoops to get them authorized to Steam.  Do a search on the forums as I don't use Steam so I can't help.

Or just download/install the DCS Beta version...

DCS merged Beta and Stable/Release versions since start of this year.

If the modules were bought in ED E-shop you cannot use them in Steam version. Only the other way can be used.
