Freakmeister51 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I would appreciate the chance to be able to understand the crash log so I don’t need to post it on the forum. That way I am able to diagnose my own problems, thus, the ED team don’t need to do it and can concentrate on more important things.
Tank50us Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Technically, we already have a crash log built in. One thing I would suggest is a slight change to the log where the issues are front and center, with some details about where in the log the issue is. Basically, we just need a way to see the issues, where they are, and what caused them. This way, we can go through and figure out the fixes.
draconus Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Logs rarely show the exact cause but they often show possible causes. If only users did these 3 things it would take out most of the crashes of DCS: 1. Remove mods even if you think they're not related (they usually are, regardless of the logic). The only safe ones are SRS and TacView. 2. Keep your system updated and stable (tested memory and disks, proper GPU/CPU cooling, no OC) and your gfx drivers up to date (or at least test other version). 3. Set your Windows page file to at least 32GB fixed size. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
