Abarth595 Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 (edited) Hi just got it working i downloaded the pimax xr runtime control center and set that to pimax xr and it works now , what i dont get is in pimax play i thought if you set pimax openxr as the runtime it was the same ??? so i had deleted the pimax xr runtime control center, because pimax play does not need it, but if i do that necksaver does not work , all these bloody runtimes gets confusing !!!!!! Monkman911 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hi all! Trying to get XRNecksafer to work with the Crystal. When I load up, I have the center button for both the HMD and necksafer bound to the same key. I hit the center button which seems to work fine however when I look right I am basically out of the cockpit to the left. Looking left seems to be ok. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Cheers! It's a known issue and not easily solved. Try keeping your headset on and centred while DCS loads. That can help. 1 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Monkman911 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Thanks for the reply! I've tried that and doesn't seem to help with the issue. Maybe they figure out a fix. Cheers!

Cheers! I would suggest not having both centring functions (Pimax headset and Necksafer) on the same key. I have to recentre my Crystal every session now but I do that via the Pimax controller. On my joystick I have necksafer and DCS VR centring on the same button. Edited January 29 by Panzerlang
Panzerlang Posted January 29 Posted January 29 On the pimax controller I hold down the pimax-logo button. That first activates the controller, then goes straight into the spinning-wheel logo thingy that centers the headset. I keep my thumb down the entire time and as soon as the wheel stops spinning I get a little vibration in the controller that shows it's now shutting down. The entire process takes about ten seconds. Then I fire up Necksafer, fire up the game, hit the joystick button to centre the game's menu AND the necksafer and check over my shoulders. If I haven't gone through the HMD centring process first I get exactly what you've described.
Monkman911 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Awesome, I'll give that a try today and report back. Thank you!
eFirehawk Posted March 29 Posted March 29 @Monkman911 and @Panzerlang, I am having the same issue you described but I don't have the Pimax hand controllers (my Crystal is a Sim edition) to re-center the view. Do you know if there is any other way to center the Pimax view without the controllers? When the menu comes up, at the bottom is a key to re-center the headset. Move the cursor onto that key and hit the volume + button again. You'll see a Pimax logo spinny circle thing as it centers. Do this every time after you've started necksafer but before you start the game.

I've discovered it doesn't have to be done every time, so long as you hold the headset roughly where it'll be when you're using it before you fire it up.

Yeah, seems hit or miss for me. I just do center as a routine and it almost always works.
