Hello,

Sorry if this has already been mentioned or if it's already requested, I couldn't find any similar topic to this:  It would be great to have an option to "disable" night lights on terrain via the mission editor (using a "disable_terrain_lights" action in a zone)? This would enhance immersion for example a bombing mission to a power station which if bombed an area will turn dark in a night mission?

Not sure if current terrain architecture would even allow a step further with an option to select complete (100% darkness and not a single light) or partial darkness (most lights off apart from some random remaining ones in a city). This would simulate some residual lights in a city with buildings having generators - eg hospitals etc.

This has been requested several times over the years I'm sure, but it is definitely a request worth having. I am in support.

Full blackout can already be done by setting a date earlier than 1944 in a mission.

I was thinking more of a feature that would permit parts of the terrain within a zone to be blacked out instead of a total blackout . Wasn't aware that this was already requested, but maybe my post will act as a reminder to devs if it's doable and the community wants it.

Thank you all for your replies.

This is a part of a bigger problem - most of DCS maps are 'modern day' peacefull enviroment, like civilian flight simulator. Without actual warzone atmosphere, blackout, battlefield, real war timeframe.

It means it's very easy from technical point of view.
