exhausted Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 These switches tend to randomly fire AIM-9s and AIM-120s since the update toiday Dogfight Switch – MISSILE OVERRIDE/CENTER UNCAGE Switch Dogfight Switch – DOGFIGHT/CENTER
LeCuvier Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 I have completed a mission with 8 A/A targets, and I have not seen any random missile launch. I wonder if you might have any double-binding on the Weapon Release button. 1 LeCuvier Windows 10 Pro 64Bit | i7-4790 CPU |16 GB RAM|SSD System Disk|SSD Gaming Disk| MSI GTX-1080 Gaming 8 GB| Acer XB270HU | TM Warthog HOTAS | VKB Gladiator Pro | MongoosT-50 | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5
exhausted Posted July 24, 2024 Author Posted July 24, 2024 I checked the key bindings and they are pretty clear, but I noticed it happen with the Hornet tonight. Rebound all the keys and it still happened again. With the Hornet it even fired random ground attack weapons. It's strangely tied to my weapon release button even though they are not double binded. Bad joystick?

Bad joystick? Definitely seems like that's the case. I'd check it in whatever the software is for your stick and see if it's showing multiple inputs.

Bad joystick? You are saying that the Dogfight switch and the Uncage Switch randomly trigger missile launch. Seems that they interfere with the Weapon Release button. Do you have all of these switches on the same game controller (e.g. joystick)? Otherwise the theory that it's a joystick problem wouldn't make sense to me. n0pe Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 You could have a short in the wiring somewhere. I am not seeing any of these issues with over 30 hours on since the update. 1

Test your hardware in windows calibration tool, play with the buttons and see if you get a reaction for others when you press another. 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? LeCuvier Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 There is an easy way to test whether other buttons on the joystick interfere with the Weapon Release button: Unbind the Weapon Release button from the joystick, use the keyboard bind 'RAlt' + 'Space'. If the "random release" no longer occurs then you know it's a joystick problem. 1 LeCuvier Windows 10 Pro 64Bit | i7-4790 CPU |16 GB RAM|SSD System Disk|SSD Gaming Disk| MSI GTX-1080 Gaming 8 GB| Acer XB270HU | TM Warthog HOTAS | VKB Gladiator Pro | MongoosT-50 | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5
Solution exhausted Posted July 24, 2024 Author Solution Posted July 24, 2024 (edited) Well, I think I found the culprit for my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS stick: I sprayed contact cleaner, but it could also be a customer service issue Edited July 24, 2024 by exhausted
papaz Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 (edited) I'm having the same issue with the Viper. Switching to air-to-air mode or dogfight mode, randomly releases a missile. No, it's not an incorrect keybind, and not a hardware failure. Only experienced it online, I'm unable to reproduce it in single-player. Edited December 4, 2024 by papaz
