Chief_Biv Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 With the change from FC3 to having individual modules I can find no content for the J11 module. Was there any content for this plane in the original FC3 or has it been deleted during the update? PC Hardware: i9-12900k, RTX 3080 10GB, 32GB DDR5 4400MHz, NVME.2 Drives, Alienware 38" 3840x1600 144MHz Monitor, TrackIR Pro Clip, Pimax Crystal Flight Controls: Winwing Orion 1 FA-18 Stick and Throttle HOTAS / Logitech Rudder Pedals DCS Modules: Too many to list after the 15 year sale
_Hoss Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Nothing should of been deleted. Only the F-86, Mig, and F-5 should be the difference. But I did see J-11 in the list. I have the F-86 and Mig-15 modules, I wanted the F-5.... Sempre Fortis
Esac_mirmidon Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Is not on the module manager, Special tab, no instant missions. You cant manage the J-11 as stand alone right now " You must think in russian.." TKhaos Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 You can only select the J-11 in Mission Editor/Creators from the drop down list of aircraft, as already stated it doesn't have it's own module. It's based off the SU-27 but you will find it under China as it's there aircraft. 1

There was no built-in content for J-11A. Either you use Create Fast Mission or Mission Editor or download user made missions. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/type-is-campaign/unit-is-j-11a/apply/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/type-is-single/unit-is-j-11a/apply/ Or select aircraft slot in MP server when available. 14 hours ago, _Hoss said: Only the F-86, Mig, and F-5 should be the difference. Each FC aircraft now has it's own folder with the aircraft as the folder name, the original FC3 aircraft are just aircraft name such as F-15C but the three new FC 2024 have FC on the end of the file name to denote they are FC 2024, for example F-5E_FC. 1 1

TKhaos, in your opinion, should everything related to FC3 be deleted (via account profile) BEFORE proceeding to purchase/install FC2024? I’m starting to think everything w/ DCS might be a lil easier by simply clearing out FC3. FC2024 is relatively inexpensive right now, so might just be worth a try. Thoughts? No, not needed. Just keep DCS updated. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

I would just do as draconus suggested and leave everything as is and let DCS sort it out. It's not just about removing folders and files you also have registry entires pointing to things. If you are upgrading to FC 2024 from FC3 it's better to leave everything so it recognises you have it all to avoid any potential problems.

DCS removed all FC3 related folders on my system and replaced them as individual aircraft in my main mods folder, everything FC3 related was removed without any input from me. Maybe true of the registry, having just looked at a previous registry backup file all the references were to DCS and only FC3 files that I had opened. Although for the original A-10C Warthog it's saved different things. Edited July 27, 2024 by TKhaos
Hamilkar Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Are any and all J11 mods completely redundant then? I was trying to install Musolo's J-11 cockpit mod, but just couldn't find a workaround since the last update.
