Boulund Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 (edited) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=31052 Isn't this lovely? Anyone else thinking a forward-port of the flight models from LOMAC to DCS to enable a whole lot of nice fastmovers in combination with freshly community made 3D cockpits? Great news to all pit-builders as well it seems. Lets hope for the best and best wishes to you ED! edit: sorry for the misprint in the heading guys =/. And I originally planned it to say "DCS 3rd Party Support Packages". Ah well. Let the discussion begin! 104th_Crunch Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Maybe we'll have a fast mover before the first official DCS fast mover?!?!
BTTW-DratsaB Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I cant believe this is the only discussion about this announcement, this seems like really massive news for the modders and community to me and I am not even a modder. kudos to ED for this. Specs: GA-Z87X-UD3H, i7-4770k, 16GB, RTX2060, SB AE-5, 750watt Corsair PSU, X52, Track IR4, Win10x64. DarkWanderer Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Look at the dates, hotshot. You want the best? Here i am...
PanelBuilder Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I wonder when we're going to hear more about the mentioned Physical Cockpit Interface Package (PCIP).
BTTW-DratsaB Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Look at the dates, hotshot. ahh that would explain it. No need to be cheeky, "Hotshot" :P 2 Specs: GA-Z87X-UD3H, i7-4770k, 16GB, RTX2060, SB AE-5, 750watt Corsair PSU, X52, Track IR4, Win10x64. GGTharos Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Why would you try to do that (which is actually not possible, AFAIK) instead of trying to simulate them in high-fidelity instead, like DCS is meant to? You can plug in an FM engine of your choice with the help of those tools, and write your own FM for a given aircraft. That's how this is supposed to work ... no 'forward porting' of anything ;) Anyone else thinking a forward-port of the flight models from LOMAC to DCS to enable a whole lot of nice fastmovers in combination with freshly community made 3D cockpits? Triggerhappy69 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I wonder when we're going to hear more about the mentioned Physical Cockpit Interface Package (PCIP). I second that.. Give us an update on how the PCIP is moving along..? Or at least let us know if we can expect it anytime soon..? I do not mean this in a naggin way, it's just that it makes a HUGE difference for us pitbuildersin how we route our cables and connection boards and such..? So if it's not coming anytime soon I'll have to do some planning..! "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DarkWanderer Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Why would you try to do that (which is actually not possible, AFAIK) instead of trying to simulate them in high-fidelity instead, like DCS is meant to? Well, because: 1.To make a comparable piece of aerodynamics requires a degree in it or general physics 2.Chizh said that DCS AI planes already have SFM. That is, we can get everything of LO plus F-16/F-18/Mirage just by creating and programming cockpits - half of work already ;) You want the best? Here i am...
GGTharos Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 ... and programming subsystems, and ... in short, if you're satisfied with SFM (and to my knowledge it's actually dumbed down a bit from even LO SFM ;) ) ... well. Might as well invest a little time in doing a proper FM. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
DarkWanderer Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Problem is, it's not "little time". You want the best? Here i am...
Boberro Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 OK, stop talking, just give us those plugins :D hah yeah :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
PanelBuilder Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I second that.. Yes indeed. For example, do we have to send key strokes or can we send "native" BS commands. Can we export switch positions frome the sim, or can we send absolute switch positions to the sim. Side rant: Every flight sim I've ever had uses the same key for gear up and gear down and it drives me crazy.
