How do i get on the runway with engines off to practice cold starting?

I'd like to get on the runway with the engines off in order to practice starting up. Instant Action doesn't do it, training makes me wait forever and the missions either start engines on or in some other state. It's only my second day, so go easy on me :)

Hi Mate,

No problem, it is "fairly" easy, though more complicated than in other games ;)

You need to either Edit the mission, or create a new one in the mission editor.

When you have the mission open in the editor, find the KA50 icon on the map, select it, and you should see some info on the right hand side.

On teh bottom half it will have "Waypoint information" , and waypoint1 should be selected.

On "type" will say "takeoff from runway"...you want to change this to "Start from Parking"

Save the mission, and you will now start cold and dark on teh parking apron.

goto Mission editer - place heli on a airield - set waypoint to "take off on park" set as "player" in control....

EDIT: DAMN YoU.... DAMNNNNNN YOOOUUUUUUUUU. beat me...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

There are also a couple of missions someone made - one with engines started and the other cold start. Download them and put them in your mission folder. They are probably under the missions thread or do a search of the mission forum.

Main site > Files > Video, page 3

At the top you have Producer's Note #1, Startup.
