ghostskills82 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 After going through the training tutorials multiple times, I'm currently studying the Chinook manual to understand the available systems. That's when this idea came to me... A training campaign for the Chinook, similar to "Iron Flag" for the A-10C, would be desirable. For example, a scenario where a Huey pilot transitions to the Chinook, just out of basic training, and is then trained at Nellis AFB for deployment in Afghanistan... Just a suggestion Cheers, Ghosty 5 Jage nicht, was du nicht töten kannst.

Yurgon Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 1000%! I think Baltic Dragon has his hands full with a myriad of projects already, but it's definitely something that would be totally amazing. 2

It only makes sense once the module has been significantly further developed; otherwise, the whole thing doesn't make much sense - you're absolutely right. 2 Jage nicht, was du nicht töten kannst.
sirrah Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Although I wholeheartedly agree that such a campaign would be really cool, from commercial perspective this wouldn't be smart (or even feasible). As in your example such a campaign would require players to own the Huey, NTTR map, Chinook and Afghanistan. This would substantially reduce the amount of purchases. But yes, it would be awesome System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

I understood this a bit differently. The transition from Huey to Chinook sounds like just the backstory and wouldn't mean the player actually has to fly the Huey (though it would actually pretty cool to have such mixed campaigns). And going to Afghanistan could be a second, but separate campaign. At least that's what Baltic Dragon is aiming for with Iron Flag. And players who play several of his campaigns might recognize characters appearing in more than one campaign. 4

Ah ok, yes, that would work Perhaps I misunderstood the OP 3 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

It´s meant like in 'Iron Flag'. It´s just part of the story that the player transitions from something else to the Chinnok, but the 'something else' won´t be flown in this campaign. In 'Iron Flag' for example, the player used to fly the A-10A in the past, but gets trained and deepdived in the A-10C for future deployments. Actually it´s just a A-10C campaign.
