Is that the expected behavior - wingman flies off to Nellis once we have done the kiss off?

 

I saw the msg about DCS AI can't fly overhead patterns, so just ignore your lead

Afrer the break? After the kissoff just forget about the AI, they don’t exist anymore

Yeah after the break he just flies over to McCarron for me in full afterburner.  F2 view after I shut down my bird, I saw him parked next to a couple of passenger planes.

 

I can't wait for the day that ED are able to produce effective AI, both friendly and enemy.

Yes after the break - OK will ignore (well I did but I was curios on where he went and checked Tacview)

The only way to ensure the AI breaks smoothly and doesn’t resume following you or its lead is to erase its memory with the break. From then on, it forgets even about its waypoints. But at that stage it’s not relevant anymore. Still better than flying 10 mile straight ins

A strange think happened while flying to Indian Springs. At some point, I believe it was right after the USAF F-4 departed, Jester started saying "He's at ten o'clock" and I realize he's referring to my leader. He keeps doing this, I move to the left side and he's calling him out at 2 o'clock. I get on his 6 and Jest start telling me "Shoot him!". I had to bring up the Jester wheel and tell him to go silent.

Yeah this seems to occur when the USAF phantom appears and then breaks off. I had Jester then calling out Flash as the enemy and his position. For the flight both Flash and the USAF phantom were Red on their labels as well.

Yeah it’s a loophole, I’ll fix the callouts by shutting jester up.

cant you just erase the AI plane(s) after the kissoff ?  like have them fly out to X after the kissoff for another 10 sec and then erase the plane itself?

(( sry i cant look into ME myself currently if there is an "erase" command or script at all, that makes the plane disappear and not explode... ))

It’s possible but I won’t because for me they eventually land at indian springs
