B.S., that's media hype over the scale.

Read this true scientific summary, no such claim has ever been made - even by scientist from the research team that have worked on this fossil!

http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0005723

Missing link is supposed to be something that is very close to human "homo" kind, but not quite yet. Not some cat-like-mammal.

It depends if you are Politicaly Correct.... a.k.a. a Jobs worth..

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

What about the huge body of scientific evidence that supports the theory in general? Just because the missing link has not been found yet does not make the theory any less viable. They will find it if they already have not.

So what is the opposing hypothisis now that intelligent design has been shown for the fraud that it is? Please don't tell me that the earth is 6000 years old and that we walked the earth along side of dinosaurs.

Evidence is mounting all the time and very quickly that we evolved.

Hard to to argue it if you respect education and higher learning at all.

Good info here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/link/

I think evolution is GOD's plan.

the evolution theory isn't just problematic on a "religious" side but also on a social level it involves a complete restructuration of the society we know today but also a complete restructuration of the law system which is the base of our societies . i think we'll come to it one day or another but it's a bit complicated . Europe has made a great step foward by forbidding lab experiments on big apes

What stuff? Please try not to get too excited, it was a general response not intended to offend you. The debate here in the US revolves almost soley around the scientific and the religious views on the subject. So those are the arguments most often heard. I was not trying to imply that was your belief, I was asking your views and anyone elses views that cared to post on the subject and trying to have a little joke about it as well. My apologies if you were offended.

Okay, sorry. Maybe overreacted, but somehow I don't like the idea world is 6000 years old, and being misinterpreted like I am the one to back this idea made me like - WHAT:doh:.

What I wanted to point out, is that even if this creature is remarkable discovery it is not "the missing link" between animal and human kind, it belongs to different branch. So, I have no idea how it got a nickname like that. Still it created (AGAIN) media overhype that quickly died - that's all.
