JOEM423 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I have an Nvidia 4070ti! Every module runs great with every setting Maxed and a sky full of planes, up to 24! This F-4 Module gives me 7FPS which is a Big Joke! And this isn't funny, you've ruined the game! And I'm Using Multithread! Pleas fix it because this F-4 Module is rediculous to play! When I use the F-14 on a Carrier deck full of Planes, Ships, and up to 24 t0 30 planes, my min FPS would be 45 to 60! You all should be ashamed to release the F-4 module like this. And Ive got a 4ghz machine w 64 meg ram running the 4070ti. Fix it cause this a bad joke!!! With 2 flights of Mig21's and my flight of 4 F-4's yields 7FPS!!!!! What a freakin Joke!!!!! TIA Joe

TIA Joe If you’re running your computer at max setting with a 4070ti you’re already doing it wrong. Also comparing a scene on a carrier vs land is apples to oranges. While I would love more Phantom love I get an easy locked 55fps with the phantom in VR with a computer that’s several years out of date now. A lot of those settings that you’ve maxed out are really only for screenshots - not every day use. unless of course you’re exaggerating and being a drama queen 1

My PC is 4 years old and never have I seen lower frame rates than with the F-4!!!!!!

Yes I have, But Im waiting for a reasonable explanation why FPS will goto 7FPS at lower settings, than when I run the F-14 at Maxed out settings with the lowest FPS not dropping below 40FPS with a carrier deck full of planes taking off and dozens aircraft incoming with most in combat!!!!! I'm waiting for a rational explanation! i don't think the F-4 module is complete and full of memory leaks for the F-4 frames to be that bad!!!!!
The_Nephilim Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 (edited) umm, could you please provide a recent log after this flight with the F4?? just coming here and blaming the game and then give no log files or even a trk file is of no help.. For the record, I'm running a 3080 and i7 13700k while never dipping below 60, with most things maxed. 1 Reformers hate him! Lt_Jaeger Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Had it once, did a repair and shader delete and everything is back to normal. Figured this stuff out myself without yelling and finger pointing. 1

The most reasonable explanation in most cases is a misconfigured system and/or an unclean/faulty DCS installation. The F-4E is much more complex than other modules (including the F-14), so the likelihood of a misconfigured system or an unclean DCS installation leading to low frame rates is much higher. rob10 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Post a log. Might give some clues. My 1st suggestion would be removing whatever MODS you have installed (esp. whatever you might have installed in the Saved Games folder). There have been all kinds of weird interactions that give behaviour that makes no sense (i.e. F-14 fine, F-4 problem) over the years. What you're seeing is pretty extreme and there would be pages of posts if the root problem was the F-4 being that bad. Which suggests something different on your end is causing the issue you're seeing. 1

TIA Joe That's what I meant with "unclean" DCS installation. If you have any problems with DCS, the first step should be a cleanup and a slow repair including all files. If the issue persists also remove all mods in Saved Games\DCS. If you still have trouble after that rename your Saved Games\DCS folder and let DCS build a new one. That would be the right steps if you face an issue and not to come into the forum first and blame an official module. You can do this if all the other steps are not working.
