I didn't realise version 7 was it's own program. I was right-clicking in the folder were the script is and launching Powershell from there and didn't have version 7 as an option in the right-click menu. Edited September 29, 2024 by HoneyBadger 1

Zyll Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 (edited) hmm, is this working for anyone after today's DCS patch? I am stuck with an empty Temp folder. I've followed the correct steps, but it seems hung for me. EDIT: disregard, I just needed to wait 10 minutes for it to start processing files. I guess its related to the exception file logic that must be running at the start. Edited September 30, 2024 by Zyll 3
zbysiek Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 Why do you want tnullo run it again? Today's patch introduced cool tinted windows :kappa: On 9/29/2024 at 11:15 AM, Nealius said: Okay, it seems to work, but is it normal to skip a lot of the liveries? For example on the Hornet it only adjusts and exports three liveries. Some F-14B liveries get skipped as well (VF-102, among others). The texture sizes are also still 4k when running the coremods files, but they're reduced to 2k when running my saved games liveries. Shouldn't the coremods liveries be reduced to 2k as well? I've taken a look and it's correct as is, most of these liveries do not contain roughmet or normal textures and just use the default ones. 1

MAXsenna Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Run yesterday's DCS patch (allegedly). Zyll @ TAW I did. Only assets from Caucasus gets optimised. Funnfact though. I now have optimised cows. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 2

You could make medium terrain textures with this script if you really wanted tho, just need to adjust the whitelists 2
zbysiek Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 If you don't use a mod manager for it then absolutely yes. If you use a mod manager not really. Ideally yes, if you don't experience any problems then no need though.

Alighierian Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 I initially had some empty folders pop up after running the script. However, after I grabbed the correct Powershell version (x64 in my case), it properly handled all files it found (no empty folders from what I can see). Results are quite promising: The actual FPS in this MP mission hasn't changed much, but the microstutters are significantly reduced. I guess it was previously asking just a bit too much VRAM from my RX6800. 2

MAXsenna Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Wanna explore the option to try it on terrain. The whitelist is in the script, right?

I'm not seeing any issues, in fact performance is generally better and I re-ran the mod after a clean/repair and update. 2 14900KS | Maximus Hero Z690 | ASUS 4090 TUF OC | 64GB DDR5 6600 | DCS on 2TB NVMe | WarBRD+Warthog Stick | CM3 | TM TPR's | Varjo Aero
zbysiek Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 I think the root cause of the issue was my GPU driver acting up, i had memory errors happen about 2-3 times since I bought this card and DDU fixes it every time, I hope it isn't dying. I've uninstalled process lasso because I thought multicore finally behaves normal but apparently nope, above normal priority and unchecking some of your cpu cores is still increasing performance. (In my case CPU0, 11 cores remaining for DCS) I'm gonna add things one by one to see if there's any issues, thanks for letting me know that this script doesn't cause any problems. 2

MAXsenna Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 @zbysiek Thank you. Tried it, and like you said. Made a mess of the ground textures. I did get 10-20% better frames and small reduction in VRAM usage. It just not worth it unless one knows exactly what files to compress i guess. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
