RustBelt Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Rivet counters aren’t really “customers” so much as a side effect. 1

So, for you a plane breaking the laws of physics equates to faulty texture? Good to know.... I would say "most realistic" flight modeling is major part of sim marketing campaign, but WTH do I know, being a rivet counter and all.... 2 Modules: FC3, Mirage 2000C, Harrier AV-8B NA, F-5, AJS-37 Viggen, F-14B, F-14A, Combined Arms, F/A-18C, F-16C, MiG-19P, F-86, MiG-15, FW-190A, Spitfire Mk IX, UH-1 Huey, Su-25, P-51PD, Caucasus map, Nevada map, Persian Gulf map, Marianas map, Syria Map, Super Carrier, Sinai map, Mosquito, P-51, AH-64 Apache, F4U Corsair, WWII Assets Pack
FR4GGL3 Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I am with @captain_dalan on this one. I am not the one that needs a spot on simulation in the last niche that can be done, because there will always be things you can't simulate. But Heatblur should really look into his findings. And it is not rivet counting. Not as long as Strings and Tapes in the Cockpit also got working hours in the schedule. I would even say this should be higher prioritized than any optical wobbling of wings or stabilizers although the wobbling would do a lot for the immersion. But I am afraid that all the hours go into Phantom. The Tomcat feels a bit abandoned at the moment. 3 14700K | MSI Z690 Carbon | Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC | 64GB DDR5 6000 G.Skill Ripjaws S5 | Asus Essence STX 2 on a Violectric V90 Headphone amp and Fostex TH600 Headphones | LG 42 C227LA & Samsung C32HG70 | TrackIR 5 | Moza AB9 and Virpil Constellation Alpha Grip | Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle | VKB T-Rudder Pedals MK IV I only fool around the F-14 - and still having a hard time on it as there is so much to learn and so little time and talent. But I love it.
r4y30n Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I think it feels that way because converting the 14 to the new system to port Jester 2.0 and other Phantom features is time consuming and can’t be done piecemeal, it’s gotta be one big code base shift.
draconus Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 https://heatblur.se/fmupdate/ At the end of the article HB Team says: Quote It should be noted the above chart shows the automatic wing sweep is programmed to deliver Max L/D possible at all speeds, and the sweep mechanism can handle rapid speed changes. Keeping wings in auto will be better than manually sweeping the wings to hopefully gain some perceived “advantage”. so yeah, let them look into it. I realize that for most of the consumer base, shiny graphics first, and pushing buttons as close second is the major selling point for flight sim, but for me it's actually flying the things, so flight dynamics and aircraft performance are much more important. If pretty graphics were the main factor here, other market share holders would be considered. I have a distaste for double posts, so if we could just mark the discussion as bug or possible bug, pending investigation instead of opening a new topic and then copy-pasting the entire thing, it would be great! There is - ask any moderator. But imho it'd be best to make a new thread there where you specifically point out what is a potential bug, add tracks and only link to this thread as a source for more info and bigger picture. Roger, creating a bug report then. 2 Modules: FC3, Mirage 2000C, Harrier AV-8B NA, F-5, AJS-37 Viggen, F-14B, F-14A, Combined Arms, F/A-18C, F-16C, MiG-19P, F-86, MiG-15, FW-190A, Spitfire Mk IX, UH-1 Huey, Su-25, P-51PD, Caucasus map, Nevada map, Persian Gulf map, Marianas map, Syria Map, Super Carrier, Sinai map, Mosquito, P-51, AH-64 Apache, F4U Corsair, WWII Assets Pack
