Ok. In DCS are the "Quad Views" and "Eye tracked" boxes ticked or unticked? Presumably ticked for "Quad Views". Firstly, QVF has turbo mode enabled by default, have you made any updates to that configuration? OpenXR Toolkit also has a turbo mode (I can't recall if this is on by default). Recommend you just remove OpenXR Toolkit in general. Secondly, download and install the latest version of https://github.com/fredemmott/OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI , this has been updated to provide a "Fix me" to provide suggestions for the ordering of the OpenKneeboard and NeckSafer API layers. Follow those suggestions. Once you've done that see if NeckSafer is still broken. Try ticking and unticking the "Eye tracked" box in DCS to see if you get different results. Thirdly, you'd responded to somebody that you were also experiencing a flickering? Go through the steps above first and then once those are sorted drop a comment here if you're still seeing the flickering and I'll drop a followup response. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
Tophatter14 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Very interesting. I downloaded the fixer, ran the fix, disabled and reenable everything, have everything checked in the game, and it seems to be working fine now. The fixer didn’t show any issues except for something generic about trusted signature. Regardless, thanks for the tip. Seems to be working now I guess sometimes you just have to turn it off and turn it on lol Edited October 7, 2024 by Tophatter14 1
Kirk66 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Should turbo mode in QVFR be checked? Q Pro, 4090, after latest update XRNS crashes DCS. Have previously removed OXR toolkit per mbuccia's recommendation. Have both the QVFR and eye tracking checked in DCS.

As to whether or not turbo mode should be on or off, start with it off and see how you go. Mbuccia’s updated settings for this have it off and the comment “turbo is an unsafe feature and should not be enabled by default”, the currently released version of the settings still have this on by default. Kirk66 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Unchecking the "eye tracking" box in DCS has restored XRNS funcitonality for me. So now have the Quad View box checked, and all is working as before. I wonder what the "eye tracking" box is for? I've confirmed using the Quad Views eye tracking test dots that it is functional with the DCS box unchecked. 2
hannibal Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 (edited) Quest pro users, dont forget to enable eye tracking on BOTH the headset and oculus link app under the beta section and developer mode to allow apps to use the eye tracking... Quad views companion gaze debug if u wana see if your eye tracking is working properly Edited October 7, 2024 by hannibal 2 find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Semaphore Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 nullIve been reading this thread from top to bottom and from bottom to top and unsure whats occuring. I have been running Varjo ASero with OpenER tool kit and Foveated rendering with 75-90 FPS on high settings. Ticked Quadview in DCS VR settings and the screen resolution becvomes tack sharp and incredibly nice to look at.. all MFDs are superb but FPS becomes 35-45 FPS at best, in some cases falling to less thjan 20 FPS. Ive tried foveated view on and off in DCS to no avail. So i have folowed instructions to fix layers as per screen grab here... says i have issues but cand fix and as far as I am aware, i am running all latest software. Are the issues a concern and what advice is trhere to get the tack sharp quality ive been teased with when ticking quad view in DCS VR Tab and and good FPS?
Phantom711 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) @Semaphore Apparently your API layer manager states, that OpenXR toolkit is incompatible with Varjo Foveated. So you could try disabling the OpenXR toolkit. There is a tickmark option for that if you open it in Windows. I‘m not familiar with the Varjo ecosystem, but since you are not using QuadViews really, but Varjo Foveated, which is also recommended that way by mbucchia as far as I know, I also don‘t know how the QuadViews button in DCS interacts with that in the first place… EDIT: Wait…do you use the Foveated setting in the OpenXR toolkit? I believe you can definitely not use them in conjunction with QuadViews and probably also not with Varjo Foveated (I guess). Phantom711 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 EDIT 2: I did dig a little further and in fact Varjo Foveated is explicitly incompatible with OpenXR toolkit. So by ticking the QuadViews box you have probably for the first time really experienced Varjo Foveated, the extremely low FPS probably being a side effect of the incompatibility. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Thats my OpenXR toolkit... i am running Mbuccia's Varjo Foveated that i understand was written for Varjo so assuming it is compatible. I am assuming OpenXR toolkit is disablled (unless i also need to untick the DCS World exe) and therefore Varjo Foveated should be working.

Unfortunately that is how it was already set up, exactly like the screen shot I took of OpenXR. im just in the process of updating Vario Base as noted the version was out of date.. once that’s installed and set up I’ll report back. Update - No change top FPS. Kinda frustrating when someone i fly with has almost same build PC and Varjo Aero Headset and hes getting 90 FPS, i'm getting less than half that. Your quadviews still work the way they always have. Might I be so bold as to request that, when making changes such as this, a full explanation is provided in, at least, the change log? Something more substantial than "VR. Added options for Quad View to VR settings"? It's what a professional outfit with an eye to detail and customer satrisfaction would do. Or maybe provide an on-line version of the manual which is kept fully up to date with live changes? See also: fuses.
